PAD affects nearly 10 million Americans and is a contributing factor in up to 30% of non-healing wounds on the lower leg.
Don’t dismiss leg pain, cramps, non-healing wounds, discoloration, or numbness as simply part of aging, particularly if you have PAD risk factors. These include age (65 and older), living with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease and being a smoker. These risks increase the chances of developing a chronic wound. ​​​​​​
