Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital

Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital has served our community for 95+ years. We offer the region’s most advanced ER and now provide specialized Geri-Psych care.

We’re proud to be the only Level III Trauma (IAP) Center in East Texas.

Last night, our Board of Directors signed a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) with Tenet Healthcare Corporation, the parent company of Nacogdoches Medical Center, to explore the possibility of working together to strengthen healthcare in our community.

🎯 This a collaborative effort.
📄 The LOI is not a final agreement. It is simply a framework for discussion.
💙 Our mission and values remain unchanged: we’re here to serve Nacogdoches with high quality, accessible care for everyone.

This process takes time and we will keep you updated every step of the way.

A Hero Among Us: Ricky Rodriguez & K9 Tank Answer the Call in Kerr County

This past weekend, one of our own, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital employee and longtime Nacogdoches community member Ricky Rodriguez, answered the call to serve.

As a dedicated volunteer with the Hudson Fire Department Search and Rescue Team, Ricky and his specialized K9 partner, Tank, deployed to Kerr County, TX, to assist in the search and recovery efforts following severe flooding. Their commitment to helping others in times of crisis exemplifies the heart of true public service.

During their mission, a young supporter named Raelyn shared handmade cards and memorial bracelets to honor the lives lost at Camp Mystic, a powerful gesture of compassion and unity that deeply touched the team.

Ricky’s courage and selflessness reflect the values we uphold here at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital: compassion, service, and a commitment to community, no matter where that community may be.

Ricky has spent years volunteering for missions like this, often covering expenses for travel, food, and lodging out of his own pocket. If you’d like to support Ricky and K9 Tank in their life-saving work, donations can be sent via Cash App to $TeamTex1.

We are proud to work alongside heroes like Ricky every day. 💛🐾

A few weeks ago, our hospital hosted a large-scale Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) surge simulation, bringing together our EMS, physicians, local high school volunteers (as patients), and our incredible hospital team to test and strengthen our emergency response systems.

From triage to treatment, every second matters during a real crisis. This exercise gave us the opportunity to pressure test our processes, identify areas for improvement, and fine-tune communication across departments and agencies.

These preparedness efforts are part of our ongoing commitment to excellence in emergency care and support our role as an IAP Level III Trauma designated hospital, helping ensure we’re ready when our community needs us most.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

When Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital opened its doors in 1928 as City Memorial Hospital, it was built as a tribute to World War I veterans — a hospital born from sacrifice, service, and the strength of this community.

Nearly a century later, we still carry that name with pride.
And today, we carry more than a name — we carry the legacy.

💙 Trusted for generations
🚑 Rapid, reliable emergency care
🏥 A hospital with deep roots and wide-reaching impact

Because at Memorial, the name means more.

Celebrating Hospital Week at Memorial!

Thank you to Christ Episcopal Church Pre-K for bringing joy—and flowers—to our nurses in honor of Nurses Day. Your sweet gesture reminded our staff just how appreciated they are.

We also enjoyed a delicious grilled lunch in Blount Park—special thanks to the brothers of Alpha Gamma Rho for cooking and serving with heart.

And a big congratulations to our award recipients! Emily Adams, RN, was honored with the DAISY Award for extraordinary nursing care, and Sharon Powers received the Sunshine Award for bringing positivity and light to our workplace.

We’re grateful for every member of our team who makes Memorial the hospital for our community.

Next week we turn our focus to honoring our EMS team!
