As we welcome August and hopefully move from the warmth of summer to the cooler embrace of fall, it's the perfect opportunity to reflect on our health and well-being. With the longer days and hot days behind us, let’s prioritize maintaining our healthy habits by incorporating all the delicious seasonal fruits and vegetables into our diets, such as crisp apples and hearty squash, while staying active in the refreshing air.
This month provides a wonderful chance to set new wellness goals and embrace activities that nurture both our physical and mental health. Whether it's taking a fitness class, taking daily walks in a nearby park, or even practicing mindfulness through meditation, every small step reinforces our commitment to a healthier lifestyle.
Together, let’s look forward to making August not just a transition into a new season, but a month of revitalization and growth, filled with opportunities to connect with loved ones and find joy in our everyday wellness journey. Remember, our health is a continual journey, and now is the perfect time to invest in ourselves as we step into a season of change.

Our residents were all smiles for their Meal of the Month — and it’s no surprise why! 🍖🍰 Our amazing kitchen team served up delicious BBQ ribs, perfectly seasoned pork & beans on the side, a hand made potato salad, and finished it off with homemade sweet lemon cake. They knocked it out of the park, and every bite was a hit! 💯 We’re beyond grateful for the talented staff in our kitchen, who pour their hearts into every meal. ❤️

National Parents' Day honors all parents and parental figures in July. No matter where our parents may be, this day serves to celebrate their important role in our lives.
In May we celebrated mothers, and in June we celebrated fathers. It follows that in July we can bring all our parents together and show them some appreciation all at once.
Parents play a vital role in the lives of children. From our birth, parents protect, teach, provide, and serve as role models. As part of a family, we look to them for guidance. We mirror their behavior and learn to be a core part of our communities. Throughout our lives, our parents lead us to be independent thinking individuals. As many of us know, those efforts can be challenging. The world is changing as quickly as they grow. Often the sleepless nights and worry seem endless. Today, we especially focus and we honor all parents who do everything to raise and protect their children.

The summer heat is still here and we need to make sure we are taking care of ourselves and everyone around us… let’s make sure we keep following these easy tips to stay hydrated and protected from the heat. Let’s take care of each other.
Wear Appropriate Clothing:
Choose lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing, wide-brim hats, and sunglasses. Many brands have offer UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) apparel for added sun protection.
Stay Cool Indoors:
Stay in an air-conditioned place as much as possible. Even a few hours spent in air conditioning can help your body stay cooler when you go back into the heat. Taking a cool shower or bath or moving to an air-conditioned place is a much better way to cool off.
Wear Sunscreen:
Sunburn affects your body's ability to cool down and can make you dehydrated. If you must go outdoors, protect yourself from the sun by wearing a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and by putting on sunscreen of 30 SPF (Sun Protection Factor) or higher 30 minutes prior to going out. Continue to reapply it according to the package directions.
Drink Plenty of Fluids:
Drink more fluids, specifically water, regardless of how active you are. Don't wait until you're thirsty to drink. However, be sure to consult with your physician how much water you should consume daily, especially during summer months. Stay away from very sugary or alcoholic drinks-these actually cause you to lose more body fluid and become dehydrated sooner.
Updates and Buddies:
Check your local news for extreme heat or UV alerts and safety tips. When working in the heat, be sure to have someone with you at all times. Monitor each other for signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
