Outer Banks Health is excited to welcome Karen McPherson, FNP, to our Family Medicine – Manteo practice!

A lifelong Outer Banks resident, she is passionate about giving back to the community she calls home. She began her career as an Urgent Care LPN before returning to school to become a family nurse practitioner so she could provide more comprehensive, ongoing care for patients.

McPherson takes a patient-centered approach, working closely with each patient to provide compassionate, high-quality care using the most up-to-date, evidence-based practices. She understands how important it is for community members to have a trusted provider close to home and is excited to serve patients right here on the Outer Banks.

Outside of the clinic, she enjoys horseback riding and fishing. Welcome to the Manteo team, Karen!

Call our Primary Care Access line today to schedule an appointment: (252) 449-4540.

We’re still looking back on the Stayin’ Alive with ThriveOBX Gala and wanted to share a few more favorite moments from the evening.

Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors, guests, Gala committee and team, the event helped raise $120,000. The proceeds from the 2026 Gala will support ThriveOBX and a wide range of health, prevention and well-being initiatives at Outer Banks Health.

From the dance floor to the 70s-inspired details, it was a night to remember. 🪩
