Happy Labor Day Weekend! So that team members may observe the holiday with family and friends, several Outer Banks Health outpatient services, including x-ray, lab, and medical records, as well as our Outer Banks Health medical group practices, will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Both Urgent Care locations - Nags Head and Kitty Hawk - are open normally from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.

The Emergency Department is open 24/7, 365 days a year to serve any immediate need.

We hope everyone has a safe, happy and healthy Labor Day weekend!

Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

To celebrate, meet Lil, a golden retriever and certified Pet Therapy dog who brings comfort, healing, and plenty of tail wags to our patients and families.

At Outer Banks Health, our nationally certified Pet Therapy dogs are available to visit patients and families upon request. Each visit is guided by a trained Pet Therapy volunteer to ensure a safe and uplifting experience. To request a visit, simply let your nurse know.

Outer Banks Health is growing.

Our Manteo Family Medicine practice has expanded to bring more care closer to home, with new exam rooms, enhanced accessibility, and dedicated spaces for wellness and learning. Join us as we celebrate this milestone with a ribbon-cutting on Tuesday, September 9 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Five years ago, the Outer Banks had no urology services. Outer Banks Health responded to the community's need and opened a urology practice in 2020. OBH proudly offers urology care, which is expanding services and providers within itself, growing access to specialty care right here in our community.

We are to recognize ECU Health Rehabilitation's Bennett Award winners for Outstanding Rehab Team Members, Krista Austin and Alyssa Villasenor-Avalos!

Villasenor-Avalos is a speech language pathologist at Outer Banks Health whose early experiences helping a family member led her to health care and a career in rehabilitation.
