Join us Saturday January 3rd for 90 minutes of restorative bliss.This class has two instructors/massage therapists and includes hot yoga, aromatherapy, and massage!
The instructors combine anatomy knowledge with intuitive bodywork to guide students through a restorative practice.
Each student will receive hands on therapeutic massage therapy, complimented with therapeutic essential oils throughout the class. This is an awesome way to assist your body in well being!

Meet She is one of our original Hot Yogis🔥

Monday 6pm GENTLE & Tuesday 6pm ALL LEVELS

Olivia grew up in Winston Salem NC. From there she journeyed west to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree from Appalachian State University in Family and Consumer Sciences, Secondary Education. Her journey then took her east when she answered the call to work for NC Cooperative Extension in Currituck County in February of 2011. At NC Cooperative Extension Olivia works to educate the community on health and wellness, nutrition, and Medicare. Her constant passion for cultivating a culture of wellness led her to pursue a yoga teacher training. In June of 2017, Olivia completed her 200-hr Yoga Teacher Certification through Duck Village Yoga. Here she studied Kunga yoga which emphasizes service. She has carried out her service based yoga by providing chair yoga to disabled adults and basic yoga to at-risk youth in Currituck County. She also provides yoga to youth at 4-H events across the state of North Carolina. She has enjoyed using her yoga teacher certification in nontraditional ways and looks forward to continuing to grow as an instructor. In addition to yoga, Olivia enjoys running and often participates in local and national running events. She understands the demands of other activities and even daily life put on the body, which allows her to appreciate the advantages of practicing yoga has given her physical and mental health. When she is not in the studio you can find her on the beach, spending time with her family, or trying to keep up with her active sons!

We are blessed to have her as part of the OBXHY family! Janet’s favorite aspect of Hot Yoga is the body-mind-spirit connection. You are more than just your thoughts. You move your body, quiet the mind and connect to your spirit. This connection encourages us to look within and self-reflect. You may come to understand your body more, release anything negative you are consciously or unconsciously hanging onto in your body.
This encourages physical and emotional healing as you slow down and focus on the present, focusing on your breath, which greatly affects your mood. That’s where the true healing journey begins.
Janet grew up on the Outer Banks and lives in Kitty Hawk. When she’s not teaching or practicing yoga, she enjoys spending time outdoors whether it’s on the beach or in the woods.

TEACHER HIGHLIGHT Stephen Swinson! He guides our Thursday 9am All Levels and Friday 5pm Happy Hour Flow. A little about Stephen ~

“Born in the summer, Stephen has always loved the beach and hot weather. So, to pursue his dream he moved to the OBX full time. Living in the beautiful outer banks, it became evident that the balance between work and play would be crucial. Only a matter of fate brought yoga to steve.
Growing up his Argentinian mother instilled the importance of physical health & fitness, therefore he loved to stay active with surfing, swimming, and the gym. Finally, thanks to sheer fulcher, he found a regular weekly practice to establish a true passion for yoga. This eventually led to getting his RYT200 from Mark Gregory’s Donate Yoga out of Hawaii. In his spare time, he owns and runs a small landscaping company as well as creating art and cooking.”

Hot yoga increases oxygen production, not just through movement, but also through infrared stimulation. More oxygen means more circulation. More circulation means greater detoxification. Greater detoxification means a healthier you!

OBXHY STORY

The OBX Hot Yoga journey began when owner Sarah Letchford attended her first hot yoga class in 2009, immediately feeling the benefits of the heated practice, and knew it would have to be a part of her life. It has been a mission since to bring this amazing opportunity to the community, local friends and visitors. OBXHY has become a fusion of the owner’s two passions, where hot yoga is accessible to everyone as well as bodywork and skincare.
