I’ve debated whether or not to share this with my baking community, but I’ve decided to be transparent as I am asking for a bit of help…So here we go!
As you all know, my husband and I welcomed a baby boy named Emmitt in late October. What you don’t know is during our 20 week scan, we were told Emmitt has a congenital heart defect known as Tetrology of Fallot (TOF). Emmitt’s heart has a hole in it that mixes oxygen poor blood with oxygen rich blood. He also has an undersized pulmonary artery and valve. What this means is he doesn’t get enough oxygen to his body. This heart defect requires an open heart surgery. As you can imagine, this was devastating news to take in. So far Emmitt has exceeded all expectations with his oxygen levels but his heart will still need to be repaired. We know his heart surgery will be scheduled for sometime in February or March. What we also know is we cannot do the open heart surgery at our local hospital so we will have to travel out of state for it.
So here comes the part where I am asking for a bit of help. This is all uncharted territory for my husband and I but we do know we’re about to face a pretty expensive and very scary road ahead. I am making these cookie ornaments to help raise additional funds to prepare for what’s to come. I’d love to sell out of these ornaments! Whether you think they’re as fun and festive as I do and want to purchase one, or you share this post for others to see, or you say a prayer for our son, any bit of help will mean so much!
Here’s the exciting part, since these are sturdy ornaments and not edible cookies, I can ship throughout the US! The order form is linked here: https://forms.gle/rZaraXM32Ygw2HmA6 )or can be found on my website at www.thebakingbibb.com.
If you’ve read to this point, thank you so much for listening. Happy holidays and God bless you all!
