A CRAZY STORY
A former patient sent me this. They recently removed it from their arm! 🤯
Over 7 years ago they had a pec repair and the wound never closed. After 2 x-rays and a MRI, there were told the anchor looked solid but there was an infection at the bony attachment site. Labs confirmed this.
After a consult with another surgeon, the patient deemed another surgery too risky. Debriding the area could have compromised the humerus. They elected to live with the discomfort and seeping wound. They changed their bandages 2-3 times per day this entire time.
There are only two possibilities. They'll return to the surgeon soon to get an explanation. Stay tuned....
