I spent this morning testifying at the Idaho State Capitol on behalf of the midwives of the Treasure Valley and all of Idaho in support of a new bill that allows midwives greater access to vitally important maternal and newborn medications. Our goal is always to keep moms and babies safe and testifying for legislation that will make that happen feels historic and important.

I feel grateful and honored to be asked to testify and to support this bill, as well as all of the conversations that I had along the way with my fellow midwives and colleagues. We truly love this work, and want to keep out of hospital birth thriving in our Idaho communities.

Big news over here!! 🎉💗🥰🐣 If you haven’t heard already, not one, but TWO of our midwives are pregnant! Rebecca and Annsley-Rae are both expecting their first babies in the coming months, and we are all so excited. Ronan will no longer be our only baby midwife mascot ☺️

Our lovely new staff midwife, Carolina, will fill in the gaps along with our steady student Grace while Annsley-Rae and Rebecca are on maternity leave. We will introduce you to Carolina soon, so stay tuned!

Thank you all for your congratulations and continued support as these midwives traverse midwifery and motherhood, following in the footsteps of so many of you. You truly give us strength, inspiration, and great joy in watching you bring your babies into this world and now it’s our turn. 💞✨

Always learning and re-certifying! Here, midwife Rebecca and soon-to-be-licensed midwife Annsley-Rae got the privilege of attending an adult and newborn CPR/BLS training. We are required to re-certify at least every 2 years and this was Rebecca’s 5th time re-certifying!! It is always so valuable to review our skills so that we are sharp and fresh in the very rare circumstance that we need them. Hooray for continuing education! 🤓📚

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again and again, caring for our repeat clients is pure joy 🥰💞 What a blessing to be able to see the babies we once cared for in the womb, grow to walk and talk and become siblings. And to grow even deeper connections with our clients as we see them throughout another childbearing year. We deeply care for you and for your families - it’s all tied up in that midwifery bow when you choose to birth out of the hospital. Thank you, beloved family, for choosing us again. We can’t wait to watch your littles grow up 💞

Family. Centered. Birth. 🌎 There truly was not a dry eye in the room when this new life made her grand entrance. Mom was so calm and grounded during her labor, supported by her husband. Once her baby was safely born, the whole family gathered to meet baby girl with tears of joy flooding the room.

As a midwife, people think birth must lose its magic and spark after attending so many births. The truth is, it doesn’t. It is always special. It is always meaningful. And it is always an honor to be trusted by these families to join them in their sacred day.

We are so happy to have gotten to know this beautiful family and walk with them through their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. We will miss them dearly! 💞

Hi baby 🥹 What an absolute joy and honor it was to care for this family. After receiving an excited call that labor had begun on a sunny weekend morning, I knew to prepare for meeting this long-awaited little one. Just a few hours after the initial call, she was ready for us. Quiet as can be, she labored in her home - intuitively surrendering to her body. The pressure mounted into finding her way into a familiar space, the bathroom, all to culminate with the appearance of her sweet little one, lifted up to her chest to be admired by mom and dad. The midwives sat back in awe. So, so proud of mom and baby, and so happy for this new addition to their beautiful family 🩷🤍✨

Have you ever seen so many smiles at a birth? What a JOYUS occasion it is to bring life into the world. This mom had so much intuition and wisdom, knowing exactly what to do to bring her sweet baby into the world. Right into her hands, her chest, right where he belongs. Congrats new family of four 🥰💞

We are trying to use up some of our SneakPeek tests that are expiring at the end of the month so we thought what better way than to invite anyone in the community to get a fast, affordable, and accurate gender test.

🩷 Anyone is invited, open-house style. You just need to be at least 6 weeks pregnant to get accurate results.
💙 This is a blood draw, so be prepared with extra hydration so that we can get you in and out quick!
🩷 The total cost is $100 with results guaranteed by Tuesday.
💙 Very light refreshments provided and you’re welcome to tour the birth center while you’re with us!
🩷 We have limited tests so it will be first come, first serve. We will try to send out a notice as soon as possible if we run out.

Invite your friends, family members, and anyone who has been wanting to know the gender of their baby but doesn’t quite want to wait. See you there 🥰

Please welcome this very overdue and long awaited announcement of the birth of baby Ronan, our beautiful Mary’s baby, born on the morning of June 29th. We are so happy he is here 💖🥰 We are looking forward to seeing more of him as our Nampa Midwifery mascot when Mary returns to work.

Meet the Martins!

This is the beautiful family that we will be honoring and raising money for on August 2nd at our Moms for Multiple Myeloma 5k. Cancer treatment is, no doubt, costly and burdensome for all parties involved. They have to drive over an hour to receive appropriate treatments and consider childcare, gas, and other miscellaneous expenses.

A couple of reminders about the event:
📝 There is no registration, just show up, donate, and have a blast with your friends! 💵 This is completely donation based and ALL money donated will be given to the Martin family, pictured above.
🎟️ There will be a raffle for some awesome baskets donated by some of our favorite local businesses
👕 T-shirts will be available for sale in very limited quantities. Again, all money will go to the Martin family.
🏃🏻‍♀️ Come out, have a blast, and run, walk, skip, or jump to the finish to support this dear family. Let’s see what our community can do!

It is our great honor and privilege to introduce to you Nampa Midwifery’s first ever 5k fundraiser run in support of a dear client who got diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma during her 4th pregnancy this year.

When we met the Martin family we immediately fell in love. They were so loving and kind and we found an instant connection. We loved seeing their family come with their smiling faces to each appointment. As her pregnancy continued, she started to experience symptoms that warranted further examination. Test after test, she got closer to a diagnosis. I will never forget the day that I sat in her hospital room with her, hand in hand, tears on both of our faces, as she was facing the diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma - a rare blood cancer whose average age of diagnosis is 70 years old - not less than 35.

Multiple Myeloma is an incurable, but treatable cancer, and one that no one wants to face, but especially not a young mother of 4. She and her family now face the impossible road of constant treatments and an incredible financial burden as they navigate life with the diagnosis.

We are holding this 5k as a fundraiser to support their beautiful family in hopes that we can take on just a small part of this huge burden that is on their shoulders now. Please consider joining us and donating to this family for a fun 5k with refreshments, t-shirts, and raffle prizes! Share this with your family, friends, community, and anyone else who might feel the call to donate to this family. We love our community and know just how incredible it can be when it comes to lifting each other up. We love you and hope to see you there! 🤍💜💙
