💙Spread the word!!🩷

We are trying to use up some of our SneakPeek tests that are expiring at the end of the month so we thought what better way than to invite anyone in the community to get a fast, affordable, and accurate gender test.

🩷 Anyone is invited, open-house style. You just need to be at least 6 weeks pregnant to get accurate results.
💙 This is a blood draw, so be prepared with extra hydration so that we can get you in and out quick!
🩷 The total cost is $100 with results guaranteed by Tuesday.
💙 Very light refreshments provided and you’re welcome to tour the birth center while you’re with us!
🩷 We have limited tests so it will be first come, first serve. We will try to send out a notice as soon as possible if we run out.

Invite your friends, family members, and anyone who has been wanting to know the gender of their baby but doesn’t quite want to wait. See you there 🥰

Please welcome this very overdue and long awaited announcement of the birth of baby Ronan, our beautiful Mary’s baby, born on the morning of June 29th. We are so happy he is here 💖🥰 We are looking forward to seeing more of him as our Nampa Midwifery mascot when Mary returns to work.

Meet the Martins!

This is the beautiful family that we will be honoring and raising money for on August 2nd at our Moms for Multiple Myeloma 5k. Cancer treatment is, no doubt, costly and burdensome for all parties involved. They have to drive over an hour to receive appropriate treatments and consider childcare, gas, and other miscellaneous expenses.

A couple of reminders about the event:
📝 There is no registration, just show up, donate, and have a blast with your friends! 💵 This is completely donation based and ALL money donated will be given to the Martin family, pictured above.
🎟️ There will be a raffle for some awesome baskets donated by some of our favorite local businesses
👕 T-shirts will be available for sale in very limited quantities. Again, all money will go to the Martin family.
🏃🏻‍♀️ Come out, have a blast, and run, walk, skip, or jump to the finish to support this dear family. Let’s see what our community can do!

It is our great honor and privilege to introduce to you Nampa Midwifery’s first ever 5k fundraiser run in support of a dear client who got diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma during her 4th pregnancy this year.

When we met the Martin family we immediately fell in love. They were so loving and kind and we found an instant connection. We loved seeing their family come with their smiling faces to each appointment. As her pregnancy continued, she started to experience symptoms that warranted further examination. Test after test, she got closer to a diagnosis. I will never forget the day that I sat in her hospital room with her, hand in hand, tears on both of our faces, as she was facing the diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma - a rare blood cancer whose average age of diagnosis is 70 years old - not less than 35.

Multiple Myeloma is an incurable, but treatable cancer, and one that no one wants to face, but especially not a young mother of 4. She and her family now face the impossible road of constant treatments and an incredible financial burden as they navigate life with the diagnosis.

We are holding this 5k as a fundraiser to support their beautiful family in hopes that we can take on just a small part of this huge burden that is on their shoulders now. Please consider joining us and donating to this family for a fun 5k with refreshments, t-shirts, and raffle prizes! Share this with your family, friends, community, and anyone else who might feel the call to donate to this family. We love our community and know just how incredible it can be when it comes to lifting each other up. We love you and hope to see you there! 🤍💜💙

That face when you drive yourself to the birth center thinking you’re just in early labor with your first baby and need extra support but actually you’re a mere *36 minutes* from delivering a healthy baby girl. Dad just barely made it too! We are so impressed by this new mom and how she’s taken up her new calling with such ease. It was incredible to watch her become a mother, but now even more incredible to see her blossom in motherhood 💞

Our lovely office administrator Mary is off on her maternity leave for the next few months! We wish her a very swift and healthy delivery of her 4th baby boy 💙 While we will miss her dearly, you can say hi to Amy who will be filling her for her role until she’s back.

Mary also graciously let us practice our third trimester bedside ultrasound on her so we can feel confident in our skills of using the handheld Butterfly ultrasound when we need it. Thanks Mary! ✨

“You ladies have just the most amazing job in the world!” exclaimed a grandma, made new again by her freshly born grandson. We nodded and said our classic refrain of agreement, not thinking much of it.

But as time went on and International Day of the Midwife occurred, I had some time to reflect that yes, actually, we do have the most amazing job in the world. We get the privilege weekly to see new life brought into this world, safely and strongly by mothers who trust their instincts. We are invited to these moments - deeply sacred and transcendent.

Being a midwife is so, so much more than catching and holding babies. It is easy to get caught up in the moments of difficulty- loss, complication, long days, sleepless nights. But the magic, oh the magic of life, dancing in the pregnant belly or in the l***y cry right after birth, that is where the magic of midwifery lies.

🌸 Chart Review 🌸

Here at Nampa Midwifery we all get together every other week to review charts. This ensures that we are all informed in the care, management, plan, and unique needs for each of our clients. Things that we commonly cover in chart review are:

🌿Any needs for the skills and training of our valuable midwives-in-training
🌿Births we have attended since last chart review: what happened, what we could do better, what we did well, what can we learn
🌿Upcoming births: reviewing lab results, special needs and requests, location of birth, etc
🌿Clients in care that need follow-up
🌿Upcoming skills days, trainings, community events, and emotional processing and bonding 💞

Chart review is so important to our practice so that we can provide consistent care for all people individually. We value our clients and strive to be better care providers every day so that you can have the healthiest pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum experience.

A gift that grows deeper over time 🌿 At her last visit, she said she started the infusion at 6 months pregnant. It matured and deepened in flavor as she grew, delivered, and nourished her baby. Finally, she offered the finished vanilla to us as a parting gift that will last as a memory that will never be forgotten ✨

“I DID IT!” she expressed. “Wow!”. “Hi baby 🥹”. Those were the words this powerful first-time-mom spoke after she roared her baby into the world. There was not a dry eye in the room as we sat back and watched this sacred, magical, and deeply profound and meaningful moment unfold before our eyes.

There is so much about this new family that I wish I could share. They came into our care seeking something different from the medical model they had started in, trusting in themselves and us to guide them through pregnancy, labor, birth, and all that comes after.

We were constantly laughing and joking through appointments all the while ensuring they received evidence-based care and shared decision-making. They were intentional with every decision they made and as prepared as they could be for the rollercoaster of labor.

You can see through these photos her elation once baby is here, her rock-solid support system throughout the entirety of her labor, their sweet baby, finding out just how much their baby weighs, a first family of 3 picture, and a bonus video at the end to show how much we enjoy being at your labor 🥰

Congratulations to this new family and we are so proud of you!! 💞💖
