Quality sleep is so important whether you are recovering from injury/surgery or not. It allows your body the time to rebuild and restore! If you are having trouble with getting quality/restful sleep, try out a couple of these tips below.
✨Environment: make the room dark, quiet and a comfortable temperature.
✨Your habits: limit screen time (phone, computer, TV) for about an hour before bed, limit caffeine/sugar intake later in the day, don’t exercise/shower right before bed (this raises your body temp and is a natural stimulant which may make it harder to fall asleep)
✨Use relaxation techniques to help calm your mind and quiet your nervous system (meditation apps, breathing exercises, etc)
