What should you expect at an emergency vet visit? 🐾
Most ER visits include:
🩺 Triage — A quick check to assess urgency and prioritize care.
🔬 Diagnostics — Tests like X-rays or bloodwork to find the cause and severity.
👩‍⚕️ Exam — The vet will assess your pet, review history, and discuss next steps and costs.
💉 Treatment — Care may start at the ER and continue at home or with your regular vet.
Other things to note:
👉 Your pet’s care plan will be tailored to their unique needs.
👉 Wait times depend on the urgency of all patients being seen.

🌜💉 Who needs sleep when there are pets to save?

Here at Viking Veterinary Hospital, we’re on the clock 24/7, 365—because emergencies don’t exactly wait for business hours. Just like Dr. Bateman, we’re ready to jump into surgery at 3 AM if that’s what it takes. 🐾✨

Coffee helps, but so does knowing we’re making a difference for your pets when they need it most. ❤️🐶🐱

Viking Veterinary Hospital offers orthopedic surgery services to the Treasure Valley and beyond.

🚗☀️ Never leave your pet in a parked car—even for a few minutes.
On warm days, the temperature inside a vehicle can soar in seconds, leading to heat stroke, brain damage, or even death.
It’s not just dangerous—it’s illegal in many states. Keep your pets safe and leave them at home when it’s hot outside. 🐾

Meet Waylon, a 9-month-old golden retriever with a heart as sweet as his smile 💛🐾

Waylon came to see us today after having some vomiting and diarrhea. He was diagnosed with gastroenteritis (a tummy bug that can cause stomach upset), but don’t worry—he handled his treatments like a champ!

True to his golden retriever nature, he soaked up all the snuggles, love, and compliments from our team 🥰 Back home he went to recover with his people! Thank you for sharing your sweet boy with us!

This is Bubbs! 💙 He was such a good boy during his visit with us. Bubbs needed some subcutaneous fluids — that’s when we give extra fluids just under the skin to help keep pets hydrated and feeling better.

He sat so quietly in his kennel while we did the treatment, no restraint needed. Sometimes pets do best when we let them relax in their own way, and our team always tries to do what’s best for each pet so they have the most positive experience possible. Because let's be honest, no one really enjoys doctor visits. 🐾✨

Way to go, Bubbs! We hope you are feeling much better!

Not all vaccines are the same—some are essential for every pet, others depend on your pet’s lifestyle and location. 🐶🐱 Core vaccines protect against the most serious and contagious diseases, while non-core vaccines are tailored to your pet’s needs.
