Sustainable farming sounds like the future β and in many ways, it is. But there is one major issue too many people ignore: the labor problem.
Healthy soils, biodiversity, composting, crop rotation, and reduced chemical use all sound great in theory. However, in the real world, these systems often require more time, more skill, and more hands-on work than small farms can realistically provide.
That is why many sustainable farms do not fail because the ideas are wrong. They fail because the labor behind them is stretched too thin.
In our latest article, we explore why labor shortages, burnout, skill gaps, and rising costs are quietly breaking sustainable farms β and what can be done about it.
