Today we were opening up a window to the EMS field for some local college students with interest in the health care fields. Our lead for the event Jacob an EMT with Lauren, EMT, Paramedic Shayla and Paramedic Emmett, also an EMS Instructor rolled an an excellent view of what its like to be a provider and the basic and advanced capabilities that arrives curbside to unforseen emergencies in the world today.

In Nanticoke, we have a apprentice program in which we have mentored some young individuals that had the desire to become an EMT and they were even paid to train on the unit as a third person. We also have a new EMT orientation program where an individual can gain the value of BLS on basics of a BLS unit prior to moving up the the more critical ALS unit.

The EMS field is wide open for training, reimbursement and some good paying jobs right now. Several of our EMS providers have worked here while attending nursing school gaining very valuable experience, pay and creative scheduling to assist them with reaching their calling.

This is our week. We go through alot with everyone throughout the year. Hopefully, its appreciated. We will continue to give all for you. We respond to a 911 emergency call at least once every 2 hours on average.
