The family practice was started in 1965 by Dr. David Smith (originally Spring Valley Optical) and is now owned and operated by his son Michael Smith. Now, after over 55 years, Eyes of Nanuet proudly continues to see many original patients (as well as their children and grandchildren), and delight new customers daily.

Serving Rockland County since 1965, Eyes of Nanuet: A Spring Valley Optical Co. is a full service Eye Care facility offering eye examinations, contact lenses, and the latest frame styles and lens technologies. Originally located in Spring Valley, Dr. David Smith's practice soon became known for its personal and friendly service. Dr. Smith's son, Michael, took over the family practice in 1992. His passion for excellence ensured business growth, which prompted a move to Nanuet in 1999. Now, after fifty years, Eyes of Nanuet proudly continues to see many original patients (as well as their children and grandchildren), and delight new customers daily.
