Forget the word "diet" for 3 months. Start with changing behaviors to make losing weight more successful!!! Add this:

Meditation Using Visualization
-Take just 5 minutes a day to sit quietly with your eyes closed (with music or not). With each breath in, visualize your favorite "bad" food or behavior associated with certain foods. Focus on the details, the SIZE of the plate, the AMOUNT of food, the SMELL, how you FEEL when you see it.
Then, with each breath out, visualize pushing it away. Try this for 3 weeks then see how you feel about food!

Behavioral Weight Management

Take a step back from obsessing about WHAT you eat and start looking at your behavioral eating habits.

Day 1: Often patients that have difficulty losing weight can actually pinpoint what they think is limiting their progress. In other words, we all know what we need to do, but WHAT stops us from doing it? Routines that are hard to break, ask yourself why? Take a moment to explore possible routines that get in the way of losing weight. Examples, snacking during the day, drinking that full sugar soda at noon, going back for seconds even when you're satisfied, eating large quantities of foods you know aren't good for you, eating when you are tired at night. The list is endless.
I challenge you to get a journal and write down your "routines" that you think might get in the way of your weight loss. Chose just one routine to change or eliminate for a week. See how you feel and ignore the scale. Week 2 do the same thing. In 2 months, you will see a difference!
