I was at a client’s graduation party last weekend—celebrating her HUGE accomplishment after years of working full-time, being a mom, a grandma, and pushing through her doctorate.
It got me thinking…
How often do we really let our accomplishments sink in—basking in their glory—before rushing off to the next thing?
When a big life transition happens—especially one you've worked so hard for—it can create a quiet kind of void. And that stillness can feel really uncomfortable.
You might immediately look for something to fill it:
The next goal.
The next project.
The next thing that makes you feel productive or needed.
Sometimes, busyness becomes a coping mechanism.
A way to stay distracted from what's bubbling under the surface.
A way to avoid the ache of slowing down.
Because sitting with yourself—
…in a body that's tired,
…in a truth that you don't always speak out loud,
…in a life that feels a bit messier than you imagined—can feel vulnerable.
But what if that discomfort is trying to teach you something?
What if that silence is actually peace waiting to be heard?
Or feelings needing to be felt.
You don’t need to prove anything to anyone.
And in that once-uncomfortable space, something new can begin to bloom:
✨ A quiet satisfaction in what is
✨ Peace found in less doing
✨ A gentle clarity around what truly matters
Give yourself permission to sit and stare. 🧡
