Providence Community Health Foundation Napa Valley

Providence Community Health Foundation Napa Valley Facing the end of life or caring for a loved one with a serious illness can be very stressful, and at times, overwhelming. We can help. We’ll be there for you.

Our mission is to ensure that Providence Community Health Napa Valley has sufficient resources to provide whole person, compassionate care for individuals and their families who are experiencing serious illness, the transitions of aging, and end of life. If you are struggling, call us at 707-258-9080. We are the leading community-based care and resource center in the North Bay for those facing the end of life, and the only nonprofit hospice serving the Napa Valley. And we’ve been here for nearly four decades ¬— giving compassionate care to individuals in their homes or wherever they call home — and providing much-needed respite for family caregivers. Our specially trained hospice professionals and volunteers will be there for you with a deeply caring heart and a listening ear during this time of transition. And after a loved one has passed away, our bereavement counselors and trained volunteers will continue to serve you with compassionate support -- because we know that grief is a process that takes time. You don’t have to cope with the end of life or caregiving alone. Our staff is ready to respond 24-hours a day, 7 days a week — whether you need information, a phone call, or a visit.

✨💪 It gives fortifying meaning to our jobs when families ask us, "How can we ever thank you?"

By making a donation in honor of a nurse, doctor, social worker, chaplain or volunteer, you also help make it possible for us to provide compassionate care to all. (We would also love to learn more about how one of our caregivers has made a difference in your life. We will share your experience and honor the caregiver!)

🎄 The holiday season can bring mixed emotions for many. For some, it’s their favorite time of year. For others, it brings feelings of sadness and loss. 🌞 Here are four additional tips that we hope may make your holidays a bit brighter:

🍎 Practice mindful eating: avoid stress eating—high-fat and sugar-filled foods—as a coping mechanism.
🛌 Prioritize sleep: sleep is often the first thing to go during a busy holiday season. Do yourself and your immune system a favor and try to retire on the early side.
🏃Stay moving: exercise is an excellent way to destress and practice holiday wellness; go for a long, invigorating walk (or three)!
🙆 Don't compare yourself to others: pressures are often exacerbated around the holidays; celebrate others' successes instead of finding yourself wanting. You’re good just the way you are.

Here are 6 more tips on how to minimize the holiday blues! Click here: https://bit.ly/49Fy2l3.

Your PACE Recreational Therapist
Recreational therapists play an essential role in the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) by promoting social engagement and emotional well-being through meaningful recreational activities.

They focus on designing individualized and group activities that enhance participants' physical, cognitive, and emotional health. By incorporating a variety of recreational options—such as arts and crafts, music therapy, exercise programs, and social events—recreational therapists help participants maintain a sense of purpose, reduce stress, and improve overall mood.

These activities not only provide enjoyment but also foster connections and a sense of community among participants, enhancing their quality of life and supporting their independence within the PACE program.

🎣 Could you be the target of holiday “phishing”?

📲 During the holiday season, you are likely to see an increase in emails and text messages around various promotions—and you may see an increase in activity from cyber criminals as well.

Remember to:

✅ Double-check sender details: Always verify an email sender's address. Look for slight misspellings or odd domain names.
✅ Avoid suspicious links: If a deal looks too good to be true or the source of the deal is unrecognizable, it may be a scam. Do not click on any links in the message—delete it immediately.
