🏃‍♂️👟 Youth Runners… Is Your Stride Low-Key Struggling? Be Honest.

Alright listen up — if your kid is out here grinding miles, chasing PRs, and trying to go full “track star era”… but their feet are low-key cooked after practice… we need to talk.

At Integrated Physical Medicine of Naperville, we adjust feet and ankles to get young athletes moving like they’re supposed to.

Because when your foot joints aren’t moving right?
Your whole stride gets a little… sus. 😬

Here’s what proper foot adjusting can do:

✨ Unlock stiff ankles (no more NPC mobility)
✨ Help prevent shin splints & overuse drama
✨ Improve push-off power
✨ Clean up landing mechanics
✨ Keep knees and hips from throwing a tantrum

If your athlete wants:
🔥 Faster splits
🔥 Smoother stride
🔥 Less “why does my heel feel weird?”
🔥 More “coach just noticed me” energy

We’ve got them.

Running in pain? Not the vibe.
Running smooth, balanced, and explosive? Big W.

Parents — let’s keep their season in its main character arc, not their injury arc.

Dr. Jon was great about listening to my ankle complaint and then building a custom approach to see how to eliminate the chronic inflammation in my heel. His differentiated approach has greatly reduced the inflammation and I was able to go on a great ski trip without any pain.

Dry Needling for Ankle Pain & Swelling — A Modern Solution for Faster Recovery

Ankle injuries are one of the most common issues we see — whether it’s a sports sprain, chronic instability, Achilles tightness, plantar fasciitis, or lingering swelling after an injury.

At Integrated Physical Medicine of Naperville, we use Dry Needling as a powerful tool to reduce pain, improve mobility, and accelerate healing in the ankle and lower leg.

Dry needling works by targeting tight muscles and dysfunctional trigger points in the calf, shin, peroneals, and intrinsic foot muscles. By inserting a very thin filament needle into these areas, we stimulate a healing response that helps:

• Reduce ankle swelling and inflammation
• Improve circulation and lymphatic drainage
• Release tight calf and foot muscles
• Improve joint mobility and stability
• Decrease pain from sprains and overuse injuries
• Restore normal walking and athletic movement

When muscles around the ankle remain tight after an injury, they can limit blood flow, restrict fascia, and slow recovery. Dry needling helps reset those tissues, allowing the ankle to move more freely and heal more efficiently.

Whether you’re dealing with a recent sprain, chronic ankle instability, Achilles pain, or stubborn swelling that just won’t go away, dry needling may be the missing piece in your recovery plan.

**Spinal Manipulation — Better Known as “Adjustments”**

Did you know Chiropractic care dates back to the late 1800s and has helped millions of people restore movement and reduce pain naturally? Spinal manipulation, commonly called an **“Adjustment,”** is a precise, controlled technique used to improve joint motion, decrease muscle tension, and support the body’s natural healing process.

At **Integrated Physical Medicine of Naperville**, spinal adjustments are frequently used to help patients experiencing:

• Neck and back pain
• Headaches and migraines
• Sciatica and nerve irritation
• Sports injuries
• Work-related strain and postural issues
• Joint stiffness and reduced mobility

When joints are restricted, surrounding muscles often tighten and become painful. Adjustments help restore proper motion, which can **reduce muscle tension, improve flexibility, and enhance overall function.** Many patients report feeling looser, lighter, and more mobile immediately after care.

If you’ve been feeling stiff, sore, or limited in your movement, a chiropractic adjustment may be the missing piece in your recovery plan.

Cupping Therapy (also known as Myofascial Decompression) is one of the oldest healing techniques in the world—and it’s making a powerful comeback in modern rehabilitation.

Dating back thousands of years to ancient Chinese, Middle Eastern, and Egyptian medicine, cupping has long been used to relieve pain, restore movement, and improve circulation. Today, it’s a trusted therapy in sports medicine and physical rehabilitation.

At Integrated Physical Medicine of Naperville, cupping therapy is used to help treat:
• Muscle strains and tightness
• Neck and back pain
• Shoulder injuries and rotator cuff issues
• Hip, hamstring, and calf strains
• Plantar fasciitis and Achilles pain
• Post-workout soreness and sports injuries

Cupping works by gently lifting the skin and underlying tissue, allowing restricted fascia to loosen and muscles to decompress. This helps improve blood flow, reduce pain, restore mobility, and speed up recovery—especially in areas where traditional stretching just doesn’t reach.

If you’re dealing with stubborn pain, limited movement, or chronic muscle tightness, cupping therapy may be the missing piece in your recovery.
