Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a powerful reminder of resilience, liberation, and the ongoing fight for justice. On this day in 1865, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas finally received word that they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. 🖤❤️💚
Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the U.S., but the legacy of that trauma still echoes today—through generational grief, systemic racism, and inequality. Acknowledging and celebrating Juneteenth is a step toward collective healing and affirming Black identity and dignity.
