In 2001, transferring two embryos was common practice and often led to twin pregnancies. Our clinic was even nicknamed “The Twin Capital!”

However, as with many medical fields, technology and standards of care have changed. Now Single Embryo Transfer (SET) is our new patient protocol as it gives our patients higher success rates with fewer risks for both mother and baby.

🏳️‍🌈In honor of Pride month, we are featuring Emily’s story. Emily writes:

"My name is Emily and my wife’s name is Emily too! We have two children, Olive and August thanks to Dr. Miller! Being a same s*x couple, we knew we would need help, but we just weren’t sure what kind of help. My mom and my dad actually were patients of Dr. Miller and used him to help conceive me (that’s right, I’m a Miller baby, too!), so they suggested that we consult with him. Dr. Miller helped us find a s***m bank and a course of action. We decided medicated IUI would be best for us as I have trouble ovulating on my own. We got pregnant with Olive on our 2nd cycle with Dr. Miller in 2018. Olive was born November 14th, 2018. We went back to try for a sibling for Olive in 2020 and got pregnant on our first IUI cycle. August was born February 18th, 2021.

Being parents was always our dream, and we are forever thankful to Dr. Miller for helping us achieve that."
