Patients dealing with early pregnancy loss have three standard treatment options: medication management, waiting for the POC to pass, or surgical intervention, including D&C. But we published new research to show that a fourth treatment called hysteroscopic morcellation is an effective option too.

Charles E. Miller, MD, and Kirsten Sasaki, MD, minimally invasive gynecologic surgeons, published a retrospective chart review where they analyzed Dr. Miller’s data from 208 patients with pregnancy loss who underwent hysteroscopic morcellation, a minimally invasive procedure to remove polyps, fibroids, or retained tissue. This was followed by a post-op saline-infused sonohysterogram (SIS).

Their analysis of Dr. Miller’s patient data is the largest report cohort to date on this topic and shows that hysteroscopic morcellation is a safe and effective primary treatment for early pregnancy loss.

As you may know, we officially joined the CCRM Fertility network in 2023, and have now changed our name to CCRM Fertility & Gynecologic Surgeons of Illinois.

This new name and branding reflect our ability to provide comprehensive reproductive care in Chicagoland through both personalized fertility services and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

The CCRM network provides you with the expertise and experience of a national network with more than 35+ years of experience in reproductive health.
