🩺It's National Physician Assistant Week! We are so excited to celebrate our very own PA, Kathy Deli. We asked Kathy to share a bit about her role and what she loves most about caring for our patients. Here’s what she had to say👇
🩵Tell us about your role and responsibilities.
💬I am the Physician Assistant at the office and work with all the other doctors to see and manage patients. I do annual visits, new patient visits, post ops, and procedures. I also assist in surgeries.
🩵How long have you been at the practice?
💬I started at the practice in 02/2021! Fun fact – when I was 19 and a college student I was a volunteer at the practice and actually worked here as an MA after that for 1 year prior to continuing my education to become a PA.
🩵What is the best part of your job?
💬Honestly, meeting so many wonderful patients! I love getting to know them and hearing their stories! The best feeling is when I get to see how much a surgery or treatment helps them get back to living life the way they always wanted!
🩵What made you want to work in fertility/women’s health?
💬When I started as a volunteer, the impact Dr. Miller made on the patients who finally were able to start a family after months and often years of struggle was amazing. It stuck with me all those years after and had me come back! On the gynecology side, seeing the impact all the amazing physicians make is one of the best parts! When I see a post op patient who says “I finally feel like myself again” or “I did not know I could ever feel this good” is one of the best moments. Making sure a patient feels heard and seen is something we all strive for at the practice.
🩵How did you become a PA?
💬I got a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science at Benedictine Univ., then got a Master’s in Biomedical Science at Midwestern Univ. and then finally I went to Rush Univ. in Chicago for PA School! As a PA, I'm able to diagnose and treat all kinds of gynecologic diseases/disorders.
🩵What do you like to do for fun?
💬I love to travel! I was actually born in Europe – Albania – and speak the language fluently. I also loving reading – huge fan of Rebecca Yarros and Sarah J. Maas. My favorite TV show is the Vampire Diaries. I love attending concerts and shows!
