Every first Thursday of the month our meeting includes an education presentation. We’ve had presentation on a wide range of topics including social media platforms, hiring a business coach, 30-second presentations, and business finances.
For June, our education presentation is about blogging and SEO. Our guest presenter will be Alison Ver Halen of AV Writing Services.
In college, Alison majored in English and Psychology without realizing she was getting the perfect degree for content marketing. It wasn't until a few years after she graduated, when a family friend asked her to write blog posts for his law firm, that she realized she could make money doing what she loves.
Fast forward to today and Alison is still writing blog posts, as well as website landing pages and emails, but also integrates SEO and marketing strategy into the content she writes to give her clients their best chance of attracting, engaging, and converting their ideal clients.

We are thrilled to introduce the newest addition to our Power Partners family, Beth Tomas, founder or 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆!
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 provides a platform for teen girls to harness the power of their voice and tell their stories.
The mother of two adult daughters, Beth has spent most of her career and free time working with girls and teens, including 10 years as a Girl Scout Leader.
Beth founded the organization 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 in March of 2022. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 (TGS) is a digital, girl-led magazine that showcases content contributions from all who identify as girls, ages 13-19, surrounding a designated theme for each quarterly issue.
TGS boasts an editorial team made up of teen girls from all over the country, who meet weekly, via Zoom, to produce the magazine. With the mission to provide a platform where teen girls can express themselves, gain publishing experience and build confidence, TGS published their inaugural issue in June of 2022, around the foundational theme of “It’s Your Voice…Use It.”
Beth believes that when girls develop their voice, writing about it or expressing it in another art form, they build the skills they need to become strong, articulate leaders – now, and in the future.
