In Ayurveda we bring in opposite qualities to create balance. In summer we are experiencing an increase of pitta which is high in the fire element with qualities of hot, light, sharp, mobile, spreading, and penetrating — think of the way you feel the heat deep within.

If you are noticing an excess of these qualities within you, they might manifest as intensity, frustration, quick to anger, flushing, rashes, inflammation, or reflux.

Bring these cooling herbs into your cooking, make a cool water infusion (no ice!) with cucumber and mint, enjoy fresh seasonal fruits, especially watermelon, strawberries, and sweet cherries.

You deserve to receive all the care you give to everyone else 🩷 It’s not selfish to receive, it’s necessary. I can’t give you a flower if I don’t have one to give.

So what if you had a whole bouquet? Think how easy it would be to freely give them away and never feel a sense of depletion.
