We say “right position at the right time” all the time!
Check out Client L (and her cutest side kick helping!) as she does some work to help engage baby prior to the onset of labor - spoiler alert, her water broke an hour later and she avoided her approaching induction! 🙌
As you get closer to your due date we will give you a variety of natural ideas to engage baby in the pelvis and encourage them to kick labor into gear. Once labor begins we work with you to make sure we are using positions strategically to open the right part of the pelvis to help your babe make their journey through the birthing space.

You’ve got this, we’ve got you! 💕

WHAT A YEAR! The Crib turns ONE today! We have been doulas for a while but The Crib just made its first trip around the sun! We started out just doing postpartum, moved into offering birth services, and have partnered to offer even more additional services. This started as kernel of a thought or dream and is turning into something bigger and better then we could have imagined and it’s all do to our amazing community of clients, birth workers, and supporters. We can’t wait to see what the next year has in store! To celebrate we stopped in for a little sweet treat in downtown Naperville. The day woudn’t be complete without a little cake or ice cream right? The margaritas will have to wait, we are doulas, and we are on call. 😉 We’ve got you!

Mention our anniversary and sign a contract from now through June 1 and receive $100 off birth or postpartum services.

As doulas we get asked a lot about what it is we do. Many think we are either 1. A midwife (which we are not, they are very different rolls) or 2. We hold babies all day. While we do get some time in holding babies, the majority of our time is spent with families as a whole supporting them however they need. That means sometimes we are with them in birth supporting them physically with a hip squeeze, position changes, or a cool wash cloth. Sometimes it’s emotional support for when a mom needs help finding her strength or her birth didn’t go quiet as she had hoped. Sometimes it’s postpartum, we hold moms while they talk about a trauma that was experienced or when tears of joy are shed over how much they loved their experience. Sometimes it’s listening to frustration over babies that refuse to a sleep or breastfeeding struggles. Offering words of wisdom or tips and tricks. Many times it’s easing the transition to parenting from 0-1, 1 to 2, 2 to 3, or even 3 to 4 by making sure the small daily tasks around the house such as laundry, the dishes sterilizing bottles, or walking the dog are complete. Sometimes it’s overnight care and we take the sleepless night rocking babies so everyone is ready to take on the next day.
So yeah, I guess some days it’s holding babies but most days it’s holding moms and families.

We may be running all over Chicagoland supporting women in labor in various hospitals and homes (and slacked just a tiny bit on the social media) but no way would we let this day sneak by. A big Happy Mothers Day to all you wonderful mamas out there holding down the fort, keeping things together, the kids in underwear, fed, and everything in between. We see you and your hard work, we see how much you love your littles (or your bigs). We see you. We hear you. Hats off to the fantastic job you do, all day, everyday, because you love them, you are mom- and you are amazing.

We also want to send love today for those that find this day challenging. We know there are those that wish with all their being to be mothers, those that have lost mothers, those that do not want to be mothers, those that have conflicting situations with mothers. It’s a day with a lot of emotion for a lot of reasons and we hold space for you.

Happy Mothers Day all.

Meet Leah Lichy LMT, CD, LE ❤️
We have the pleasure of hanging with her for great conversation and indulging in her homemade sourdough (with cinnamon! Yum!) We also encourage our clients to see her for all their massage needs (and more)! She has been a birth doula and licensed massage therapists for over 20 years. Specializing in prenatal bodywork with an emphasis on body awareness, relaxation and position of your baby, she brings a well rounded approach to massage therapy sessions. In home postpartum massage therapy sessions are available, depending on location, as well as traditional belly binding. Scar mobilization & cupping are offered, with emphasis on c-section recovery.
Leah is also a postpartum doula, lactation educator and runs a fun & functional New Mamas Group at her Lisle office. Reach out if you want to learn more! You will love her as much as we do 🥰

Meet Carrie! She has been building stronger bodies for over 2 decades as a Prenatal and Postnatal Specialist. She has an expert understanding of the unique needs of our prenatal and postpartum clients. As a Diastasis Re**us Abdominus Specialist there is no better resource for helping women who already have separated abdominal muscles, and she designs her programs to help manage your intra-abdominal pressure in pregnancy to help prevent this from developing or worsening. But at her core, Carrie is a Women’s Health Physical Therapist who understands the cyclical nature of the female body and the importance of designing exercise programs through this lens. Whether you are looking to strengthen your body to support your baby, work your core in specific positions to make labor easier, or help your body recover fully from birth, Carrie has a program for you. She offers in-person, virtual, and online programs and you will quickly see why our clients always report back that her class is “so much more than an exercise class.” Learn more and schedule a session at www.carriekoziol.com. We know you will love her as much as we do!
