Referrals like this mean everything.

Robin found RecoverWell through a local recommendation while looking for support after surgery and came in dealing with swelling, pain, and limited mobility.

With post-operative care, the goal is to support your body as it heals: reducing swelling, improving mobility, and helping you feel more comfortable in the process.

Now, not only is Robin feeling better, but she’s continuing care for other areas in her body and sending her family in too!

That kind of trust is something I’m incredibly grateful for 🤍

If you’re navigating recovery after surgery or dealing with swelling and discomfort, you don’t have to do it alone.

If you’re only booking a massage when you’re already in pain, you’re missing a big part of what massage can actually do for your body.

Massage isn’t just reactive - it can be proactive.

When you schedule regularly, you’re giving your body a chance to stay ahead of tension patterns instead of constantly playing catch-up. Muscles that tend to overwork don’t get as tight, restricted areas don’t build up the same way, and your body can move more freely with less effort.

It’s also how we start to see bigger, longer-lasting changes. Your body learns a new “normal”, one that feels more balanced, supported, and comfortable day to day.

Think of it less like a one-time fix and more like ongoing maintenance for how you want to feel.

If you’ve been waiting until something hurts to come in, it might be time to try a different approach. Your body will notice the difference.

Tension headaches can be more than just an occasional annoyance - they’re often your body’s way of telling you something is out of balance.

Dehydration, prolonged screen time, and muscle tension (especially in the neck and shoulders) can all play a role in triggering that tight, pressure-filled feeling.

The good news? Small, consistent habits can make a big difference. Supporting your body throughout the day and addressing the root of the tension, not just the symptoms, can help you find longer-lasting relief.

That’s where targeted, therapeutic work comes in. By identifying and releasing the muscles that are overworking (and supporting the ones that aren’t doing their job), we can help your body feel more balanced - and headaches often become less frequent and less intense.

If tension headaches are something you deal with regularly, you don’t have to just push through them. There are ways to feel better.

Sometimes the best kind of reset isn’t just for your body… it’s for your soul, too.

On my recent trip to Asheville, I had the chance to spend time with a long-time, dear friend and we went to the beautiful Biltmore. It was such a meaningful reminder that while I’m always learning new ways to help my clients feel better, connection and joy are just as important for our overall wellbeing.

Grateful for time to learn, grow, and reconnect 🤍

I mentioned NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) in a recent post… but here’s another important piece of the puzzle that often gets overlooked: scar tissue.

Scar tissue isn’t just something you see on the surface. It can actually interfere with how your muscles and nervous system communicate. When that communication is disrupted, your body starts to compensate - some muscles become overworked, while others don’t activate the way they should.

That’s where the NKT approach we mentioned before can be so valuable.

By identifying these imbalances, we can start to address the root cause; working to release or soften scar tissue, relax overactive muscles, and re-engage the ones that need support.

When your body starts communicating better, things can shift in a big way… this can lead to pain relief that didn’t seem to have a clear source.

If something in your body has been feeling “off” or unresolved, this could be a really helpful tool.

Stories like Kate’s highlight something really important. Feeling better isn’t just about temporary relief… it’s about understanding your body and knowing how to support it.

Kate came in after dealing with back pain and limited mobility for years, without lasting results from other approaches.

What made the difference?
Consistency, a personalized approach, and simple, realistic strategies that fit into her everyday life.

Now she’s moving through her day without pain, working out with better form, and feeling more like herself again.

That kind of transformation, physical and day-to-day quality of life, is why this work is so meaningful.

So grateful for clients like Kate who trust the process and show what’s possible with the right support 🤍

Continuing education is a big part of how I show up for my clients.

A few weeks ago, I traveled to Asheville, NC to take another course with Anatomy Trains - diving deeper into how the body moves, adapts, and compensates.

This workshop combined fascia research, structural anatomy, and movement analysis to better understand how everything in the body is connected. From identifying the 12 myofascial meridians to refining posture and movement assessments, it gave me even more tools to support my clients in a meaningful way.

Since returning, I’ve already started integrating these techniques into sessions and I’ve been really encouraged by the results I’m seeing.

The goal is always the same: help you move more efficiently, feel more balanced, and experience less pain in your body.

If you’re curious how this kind of work could support you, I’d love to connect.

Ever feel like you’re treating the same area over and over… but the pain keeps coming back?

That’s often because the source of the issue isn’t where you feel it.

The body works as a system. When one muscle isn’t doing its job well, another muscle will step in to compensate. Over time, this can create patterns where some muscles become overactive (working too hard), while others become underactive (not doing enough).

This is where NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) comes in.

NKT uses a form of manual muscle testing to help identify these muscle imbalances. The goal is to better understand why your body is holding tension or experiencing pain — not just where it hurts.

By identifying what’s overworking and what needs more support, we can take a more targeted approach to helping your body move and feel better. I am excited to share I have been studying this technique and just completed a course last week!

If you’ve been dealing with recurring discomfort or feel like something just isn’t resolving, this could be a very helpful piece of the puzzle.

If you’re curious how this works or want to see if it’s right for you, feel free to reach out.

Your feet do a lot more than just get you from place to place… they’re your foundation.

When your feet aren’t supported, it can create a ripple effect throughout your entire body - showing up as pain, tension, or imbalance in places you wouldn’t expect.

Small, simple habits can make a big difference in how your feet feel day to day (and how the rest of your body functions too).

Start incorporating a few of these into your routine and notice what changes.

And if you’re not sure where to start or want more personalized support, reach out. I’m happy to help guide you!

A little reminder of what your body might need today…

We get so used to pushing through tension, stress, and discomfort that we forget what it actually feels like to not feel tight, achy, or drained.

Taking time for a massage isn’t just about relaxation - it’s about giving your body a chance to reset, recover, and function the way it’s meant to.

Future you will thank you for it.

It can start small…

Maybe your shoulder feels stiff when you reach overhead.
Maybe fastening your bra or grabbing something from the backseat feels harder than it used to.

Then over time, the movement becomes more limited… and more painful.

This could be frozen shoulder.

Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) happens when the shoulder joint becomes stiff, inflamed, and restricted—making everyday movements feel frustrating or even impossible.

What makes it tricky is that it tends to develop in phases:
• Freezing stage – increasing pain and decreasing range of motion
• Frozen stage – less pain, but significant stiffness
• Thawing stage – gradual return of movement

It can feel slow, discouraging, and unpredictable - but you’re not stuck forever.

With the right support, gentle movement, and targeted bodywork, you can help reduce discomfort and gradually restore mobility.

At RecoverWell, we meet your body where it is - supporting you through each phase of recovery with care that’s tailored, intentional, and focused on progress.
