💭 Are you saying “sorry” too much?
It might be doing more harm than you realize; not just to your confidence, but to your health.

Chronic apologizing can:
⚡ Keep your body stuck in stress mode
⚡ Raise cortisol + increase inflammation
⚡ Slow your healing + weaken immunity

You don’t have to apologize for:
🫶 Needing help
🚫 Saying “no”
🧘‍♀️ Taking up space
💗 Not being okay

Your words shape how you feel about yourself and how your body responds. Swap unnecessary apologies for gratitude, clarity, and boundaries that honor your well-being.

Which “sorry” will you replace today? Share below 👇

🧠 Longevity | 🩺 Health | 🌿 Mindfulness
Shout out to .fitmom

It’s not just about the weight on the scale.

When we think of health, especially for our kids on the spectrum, we often focus on behavior, routine, therapy, and nourishment but overlook metabolic and cellular health.

This summer, I came face to face with what might’ve been a slow slide into future health risks.

📉 In June, during a visit to my sister-in-law’s home, she had us step on her smart scale. Atharv, our 14-year-old who lives with autism and anxiety disorder, had been exercising and eating mostly at home. We motivated him with his favorite meals 😊 mostly rice and protein.

But the numbers told a different story.

⚠️ High visceral fat.
⚠️ Elevated body fat % and low skeletal muscle.
⚠️ A metabolic age of 48.
⚠️ Poor hydration.

He is 14. It was a wake-up call.

So, I made a quiet promise to myself that this summer, we will shift.
Mindfully. Gently. Consistently.

We didn’t count calories. We moved more. We breathed deeper. We explored new grains. We talked about food. We stretched together. We rested better.

📊 August results?
✅ Visceral fat back in range.
✅ Muscle mass way up.
✅ Protein and hydration improved.
✅ Metabolic age now: 14.
✅ His energy? His mood? Noticeably steadier.

I’m sharing this because this journey was never about changing his body. It was about supporting his life and ours together.

For caregivers of kids with special needs: I know the energy it takes to get through the day. I know the temptation to soothe with food. You’re doing your best. So was I.

But this reminded me: we can love through awareness, too.
Health is not the absence of symptoms. It’s the presence of vitality.

🙏 Thank you to my sister-in-law who nudged us toward this new path.
📸 Swipe to see the data shift—it speaks for itself.

As a yoga teacher, people often assume I have it all together. That I must always be calm, balanced, and grounded. But the truth is; it’s work. Conscious, daily work.

In my latest blog, I share a personal story about navigating emotional overwhelm, understanding my own “body budget,” and how I bring that awareness into my teaching at BreathePower.

We don’t just do poses in class; we build the tools to manage energy, emotions, and the nervous system with care.

This event touches me deeply. 💙 My son is organizing a fundraiser in honor of his younger brother, Atharv, who is on the autism spectrum. Through music which is also their shared language, he found a way to connect with his brother and now wants to extend that connection to support other families like ours.

The fundraiser benefits Little Friends Inc., an organization that supports children, adults, and families navigating autism and developmental disabilities. All proceeds go toward their Family Respite Services Program, which gives parents and caregivers much-needed time to rest while their kids engage in enriching, inclusive programming at no cost to them.

Please take a moment to support this beautiful effort. Every donation, no matter the size, helps another family breathe a little easier. 💛

When teens are exposed to yoga classes that go beyond movement—where awareness is raised and tools are shared to manage stress—they begin to change from the inside out.

Their stress threshold increases, and they gain coping skills they can use in real life.

They learn to pause. To breathe. To respond rather than react.

Over time, they don’t just feel better—they become resilient, centered, and confident in handling life’s ups and downs.

Here’s why it works:

● Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to form new connections.
● That means we can reshape the brain for greater emotional resilience and well-being.
● With regular mindful practices—like breathwork, yoga, and meditation—teens can rewire their brain to manage stress more effectively.

This is more than yoga. It’s a toolkit for life.

April is Autism Awareness Month, and for us, autism is not just something we support—it’s part of who we are.

In our home, communication goes beyond words. Even in the quiet, we are deeply connected—through gestures, glances, and the energy we share in a space. Staying in sync with unspoken words allows us to honor each other’s needs, emotions, and presence.

In a world that often relies too much on spoken words, our ability to communicate through silent cues offers a powerful lesson to the neurotypical world. This skill enriches the way we connect, enhancing empathy, understanding, and inclusion. It shows us that communication can be as diverse as the people in it, and that the beauty of non-verbal connection has the power to transform the world we live in.

Let’s celebrate and advocate for all forms of communication, and recognize that every connection, spoken or unspoken, brings us closer together.

Why Books Should Not Be Used as Props in Yoga:🧘🏾‍♀️ 📖🙏🏾

In yoga practice, respect for knowledge and learning is deeply rooted in tradition, which is why books should not be used as physical props during asana practice.

February 2nd, 2025 is celebrated as Saraswati Puja is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of wisdom, learning, music, and arts. (This date changes with respect to lunar cycle)
It is especially significant for students, teachers, artists, and seekers of knowledge.

Significance:
1. Celebration of Knowledge & Learning – It is a day to honor education, intellect, and creativity. Books, musical instruments, and writing tools are often placed at the deity’s feet for blessings.
2. Symbol of Purity & Clarity – Goddess Saraswati, dressed in white and seated on a lotus, represents pure wisdom, higher consciousness, and clarity of thought.
3. Cultural & Spiritual Growth – This day encourages the pursuit of learning beyond academics, including self-awareness, discipline, and spiritual knowledge.
4. Blessings for New Beginnings – Many children start writing their first letters on this day, symbolizing the beginning of their education.

It is a reminder that true wisdom is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about applying it with discernment and compassion.

Many yoga schools and classes offer using books as props.

Please consider respect for Tradition – Yoga, especially in its traditional roots, emphasizes reverence for texts and learning materials. Many ancient yoga texts, including the Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutras, are highly revered.

Alternative Props for Yoga:
• Yoga Blocks: Provide stability and height adjustments.
• Bolsters & Cushions: Offer better comfort and support.
• Folded Towels or Blankets: Work well for added padding.

By using appropriate props, we maintain the sacredness of knowledge while also ensuring safety and alignment in our yoga practice.
