The Woodruff Institute is pleased to welcome Traci Long DiPhilippo, PA-C to the practice!

Traci is a native Floridian with a distinguished background in both clinical practice and the medical device industry. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Florida, where she was honored with membership in the Golden Key National Honor Society for outstanding academic achievement. She later completed her physician assistant training at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, graduating in 2000.

Traci began her career as a physician assistant in cardiothoracic surgery at Duke University. Her clinical expertise and leadership quickly led her into the medical device field, where she held roles as a clinical consultant and later as a sales representative specializing in cardiac surgical devices. Over the course of 14 years in the industry—including several years at Edwards Lifesciences, a pioneer in transcatheter aortic valve technology—Traci developed a strong foundation in both innovative medical technologies and patient-centered care.

Motivated by a desire to return to Florida and reconnect with her roots, Traci transitioned back into clinical practice over a decade ago. She has since focused her career on medical and cosmetic dermatology, where she combines her medical knowledge with an artistic eye to help patients look and feel their best. Her passion lies in aesthetics, and she takes great pride in providing personalized, confidence-boosting care.

Outside of work, Traci enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Sam, often on the golf course or tennis court.

Our Story

Dr. Sonne is fellowship trained and Board Certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is one of a small group of surgeons that has achieved Dual Board Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Sonne grew up in Connecticut and attended Oberlin College. He attended medical school at New York Medical College where he was the president of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society. Dr. Sonne went on to an internship in General Surgery at St. Vincents Hospital in Manhattan and continued his surgical subspecialty training at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Subsequently, Dr. Sonne completed a Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Indianapolis. Dr. Sonne holds medical licenses in Florida, New York and Indiana. He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
