Two years ago today, myself and a group of ladies met for the first time to support one another, heal and to grow. I started this group because I needed support from other women as I recovered from my toxic marriage to a narcissist. This group has been instrumental in my healing journey and I love how we all support one another as we grow and learn. This is a huge shout out to the ladies in the group! After 18+ years of covert narcissistic abuse, I found the courage to leave my marriage. It was the most difficult decision that I have ever made in my life. Terrified I stepped out into the unknown. All I had was my faith in God. Almost instantly my business took off, my health took a drastic turn for the better and I felt alive. Joy filled my heart and I had more energy than I had had in years. Fast forward…1.6 years after my departure and 14 months since our mediation and settlement, my narc sent me a happy birthday text last Friday on my birthday. The beauty was that I was celebrating with my girls from my support group and when the text came in, my girls were by my side and we all laughed at my ex’s attempt to upset me on my birthday. Instead he looked like a fool! We are moving on to bigger and brighter things.
