OUR STORY
Pavilion Shopping Center is pleased to announce the grand opening of a new optical shop in North Naples.
Vanderbilt Optical was originally conceived as a partnership between optician Randy Bott and Dr. Jason Eugenides. Mr. Bott is an optician with 20 years experience here in southwest Florida. Dr. Eugenides has been a practicing board certified optometric physician serving Naples since 1993. The new shop features frames by many designers including Tom Ford, Dolce and Gabanna, Tiffany, Armani and Roberto Cavalli. They also carry designer sunglasses by Ray Ban and Costa Del Mar. While they carry a large array of famous designer frames, they will also offer a wide assortment from newer, lesser known fashion brands on the cutting edge of modern eye wear design.
Vanderbilt Optical is a full service optical. Eye exams are available as well as the fitting and dispensing of all brands and designs of contact lenses. Prescription lenses from Vanderbilt Optical will utilize the highest quality optics available by lens brands such as Varilux, Crizal, Transitions, Experio and all major lens manufacturers.
Dr. Eugenides is a graduate of Indiana University School of Optometry. He has been practicing in Naples since 1993. He is fluent in both Spanish and English. Since 1993 here in Naples, he has worked in partnership with many of the major optical franchises in the area such as Lenscrafters, America's Best, and Pearle Vision. He and Randy Bott are now setting out to establish a truly independent optical store. Independent optical stores are becoming rarer in recent years as franchise chains have come to dominate the industry. But they can offer a few advantages. Most major optical chains can only offer certain frame designs and ophthalmic lenses determined by nationwide corporations. Corporate overhead also usually translates into higher costs to consumers. By remaining independent, Vanderbilt optical will not be constrained to selling just established product. As franchises consolidate further in the future, Jason and Randy believe they will excel at providing a wider choice of designs with higher grade optics, and at a better price. People might have gotten used to getting their eye care from department stores and wholesale warehouses. Randy and Jason believe the future in eye care may just well be in the past, when optical service was once the sole domain of eye care professionals and not corporations.
