Mindset

It’s really difficult to be dealing with some sort of health challenge and have an optimistic viewpoint on the ability to get well.

Before I partner with people on their healing journey I always make sure to get an idea of where they are in their beliefs. Essentially what is there goal and do they actually believe it.

If someone comes in and they don’t believe that they can become well but just want to try something I already know it’s going to be an uphill battle.

Having the mindset that the body is self healing and has the ability to heal and get back to its best state is key when it comes to anything you do regarding health.

It can sometimes even be more powerful than the care received!

Last night’s Sourdough Starter Event was so much fun! We covered how to make sourdough pasta, I think everyone agreed that the final taste is well worth the work it takes to make!

Our next event will be on April 16th at 6:30 where we go over how to make a chocolate chocolate chip loaf…easily the best thing I make!

There’s quite a few new people on here so allow me to reintroduce myself!

I’m Dr. Mike Merkt, that’s my beautiful wife Dr. Nateja, we get to work with each other everyday at the office! I can’t forget about our favorite girl Bella between us there…she’s our official mascot and office greeter.

When I’m at the office I love being able to help people with a number of health challenges by balancing their nervous system. We’re really proud of all the people we’re able to help and the healing space we’ve created!

When I’m not in the office you’ll find me enjoying sunsets at the beach, riding/building motorcycles, out and about in the community, cooking and baking tasty meals, and a little bit of everything else.

Next Tuesday at 6:30 is our first Sourdough Starter event! We’ll be going over all the basics from baking a normal loaf, what a starter is, how to take care of the starter, and you’ll be getting your own starter for free!

Every month we will be going over a different recipe/different way to utilize sourdough.

For the past 6 months I’ve been making and baking a lot of sourdough goods. I made my starter from scratch (which is really easy) and I’ve had quite a few people reach out to me about it. Seems like hosting a monthly class, featuring a different recipe each time is a great idea. I’m thinking everyone who attends will get a free starter as well.

We shall call it The Sourdough Starter. I’m not a pro by any means but I’m perplexed as to why others on the internet make it seem like sourdough is hard to make when it truly is not (as long as you can follow directions).
