As we close out 2025, we find ourselves reflecting on a year that shaped Naples Therapeutic Riding Center in ways we will carry with us for a lifetime.

No single post could ever capture the full scope of the impact made this year and only a tiny amount is highlighted in this reel.

From record-breaking events and incredible community support, to new friendships formed and lives forever changed, 2025 strengthened us and reminded us why this work matters so deeply. Each stride forward was powered by the trust between horse and human, and by a community that continues to believe in the power of connection and care.

The impact of this year will be felt far beyond the calendar.

2025 will live in the highest regard at NTRC. As we step into the year ahead, we do so with gratitude, momentum, and a deep commitment to the lives we serve. What was your favorite memory this year?

Thank you to our participants, families, volunteers, donors, staff, partners, and friends who make our mission possible. Because of you, our arena has been filled with confidence, connection, and joy all year long.

Our herd is enjoying some well-earned rest, and we hope you find the same peace this season brings.

Wishing you comfort, joy, and a bright start to the New Year. We can’t wait to see everyone back in January for another season of smiles and life-changing moments. β„οΈπŸŽπŸŒ΄

Every week, participants from David Lawrence Center’s Crossroads Program come to NTRC for private sessions that support their recovery journey. These sessions use structured activities with our horses to help build regulation skills, confidence, communication, and healthy connection. Each visit is supported by their health care professionals in partnership with our PATH Intl. Instructor.

Horses naturally respond to human emotion and body language, creating an immediate and honest feedback loop. This allows participants to practice awareness, boundaries, problem-solving, and trust in a way that is both experiential and impactful.

We are only sharing the non-identifying portions of the paintings, as the opposite sides included personal reflections and participant names. The artwork shown features symbols of peace, hope, connection, and joy through rainbows, hearts, positive words, and bright colors. These images reflect the themes explored during the session and demonstrate how creativity and horses can support grounding, expression, and meaningful moments of growth.

We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with DLC and the opportunity to support the important work they do in our community. πŸ’™πŸ’›

Today we honor Jane, who has spent the past decade making an extraordinary impact at Naples Therapeutic Riding Center.

For ten years, Jane has given her time, her strength, her kindness, and her steady presence to our barn and arena. She has supported riders with patience and joy, cared for our herd with dedication, and brought a spirit of compassion that touched everyone she met.

Over her 10 years of service, Jane has volunteered an incredible 1,280.40 hours β€” the equivalent of 32 full workweeks devoted entirely to our mission. What a remarkable testament to her commitment.

While we will miss seeing her each week, we are so excited for her next chapter and the adventures ahead.

Please join us in thanking Jane for 10 incredible years and wishing her all the best.

Once a part of the herd, always a part of the herd. ❀️🐴✨

We’re excited to share highlights from one of our newest programs β€” Lead & Learn Visits!

These equine-assisted learning (EAL) field trips blend hands-on education, confidence-building, and plenty of quality horse time.

Students from Gulf Coast High School’s ESE program were our third group to join us, and their two-hour visit was packed with nonstop fun.

They learned about our horses and their care, practiced leading, and wrapped up their experience with an equine art opportunity.

Even better? The photos we're sharing today come straight from a slideshow they created for us!πŸ’›

We’re thrilled to continue welcoming student groups to the barn and creating meaningful learning moments through horses.

To bring your class or organization to NTRC, please contact cvanorsdale@ntrc.org or give us a call.

πŸŽ„βœ¨ You can always catch us horsin’ around, even around the holidays.

Our staff took a break from the barn to celebrate the season with an onsite hibachi lunch, plenty of laughs, and a Secret Santa exchange that brought all the fun last Friday.

For more festive fun, some staff and Board members also attended the Chamber of Commerce’s Jingle and Mingle.

We’re grateful for time spent together, inside and outside the arena, and for the holiday cheer that carries us into the New Year. πŸŽ„πŸ΄

THANK YOU to everyone who has already supported our Giving Tuesday campaign. Because of you, we are taking important steps to ensure every ride at Naples Therapeutic Riding Center begins with comfort, care, and confidence.

This Giving Tuesday, our focus was simple and essential. Proper saddle fit keeps our horses comfortable and willing, allowing riders to relax, build trust, and fully engage in each lesson.

With new horses welcomed to our barn and natural changes within our herd, professional saddle fittings help us determine what equipment can continue to be used safely, what can be adjusted, and when a new saddle is truly needed to best support both horse and rider.

There is still time to be part of this impact.

A gift of $50 supports a professional saddle fitting for one horse. For those able to go further, a gift of $600-$1,000 helps cover the cost of a new saddle, creating long term comfort and confidence for riders who rely on that horse each week.

Every gift makes a difference. Thank you for supporting our riders and horses and for helping give the gift of freedom in the saddle.

Ps. Indy, the pony in the video, joined our herd recently. Your gift will directly support herd members like her.

Guess what trotted into NTRC just in time for the holidays?

These two jolly giants showed up wearing wreaths and are ready to bring enough festive spirit to light up the whole property.

They don’t eat hay, won’t need farrier appointments, and definitely can’t fit in a stall… but they’re already making everyone smile, which makes them perfect additions in our book.

Look for them when you’re on campus! πŸŽ„πŸ΄βœ¨
