Can Florida strip your medical ma*****na card over a minor drug conviction? Governor DeSantis just signed SB 2514, allowing immediate suspension of patient and caregiver registrations upon being charged with a controlled substance offense.

Registrations must be revoked if convicted or if the individual pleads guilty or no contest to trafficking, sale, or possession with intent. Patients and caregivers may reapply after completing all legal terms by submitting a notarized attestation.

These changes are part of broader health reforms including cancer research and child grief support programs.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) last week signed a bill allowing the revocation of state-issued medical cannabis cards for individuals convicted of drug crimes.
