What’s a girl to do when her entire fabric stash is being held hostage in a moving pod but she DOES have her travel sewing machine with her in temporary housing? She finds her new and buys herself some precuts for some Moving Stress Therapy stitching, that’s what she does! Feeling inspired by ‘s for 2023. I don’t know who is going to cut my hair or clean my teeth in Florida yet, but I know where I can get my fabric fix and that’s more important 😊.

I adore this that my client Susan made for her SIL! (Not tagging her because this is a gift and I don't want to spoil the surprise!). The pattern is by Kathy Skomp of using Stephanie Sliwinski of 's beautiful collection for Moda. The panels and even the text prints feature titles and lyrics of beloved hymns that have carried generations of the faithful through dark times. As I was quilting this for Susan, I felt like I could actually hear a faint echo from a congregation somewhere blowing the roof off a church with rousing renditions of "Amazing Grace," "This is My Story, This is My Song," and "It Is Well With My Soul." What an amazing, thoughtful gift from one to another.

I quilted this for Susan using Karlee Porter's beautifully detailed quilting design and I love how Karlee's organic but fanciful drawing style complements the aesthetic of Stephanie's fabric prints, adding another layer of interest to the background spaces around the star blocks while keeping the focus on the hymn panels. The thread is Superior's Masterpiece in color Bisque, and I used Quilter's Dream Cotton Select loft batting. Swipe through to see a photos of the entire finished quilt and the Before Quilting photo of Susan's quilt top.

Thank you so much for choosing me to quilt this for you, Susan!

Just finished this adorable for my client Michele and I'm so in love with it! The patchwork pattern is by Emily Dennis of and I quilted it with Judi Madsen's playful pattern. What is that gorgeous variegated yellow thread in hues of afternoon sunshine and Dijon mustard, you may ask? It's my favorite for quilting, in color Golden Glow, perfect for a quilting design like this one that contains no backstitching, and a quilt like this one where you want your quilting stitches to be a bit more noticeable than with your average thread. That lovely texture and dimension comes from Quilters Dream Cotton Select loft batting plus super-soft and snuggly prewashed flannel backing fabric. This is one of my favorite quilts from a very busy month of quilting! Swipe through to the end to see Michele's beautiful quilt top prior to quilting.

Thanks so much for choosing me to quilt for you, Michele!

When I have been AWOL from social media for awhile, it's so hard for me to decide which of the bazillion gorgeous quilts on my photo roll I should share with you next! Today I'm choosing this striking made by my client C. (not tagging her yet because it's a gift and I don't want to ruin her surprise). I love the energy of the bright green paired with black and white and the balance she achieved in her layout of seemingly random HST units. I quilted this using the design designed by Jess Ziegler, using 40 wt cotton in color Temple from Superior Threads to give the quilting stitches some presence against the busyness of the print fabrics. I love how the curves and circles in this quilting design soften the straight line geometry of the piecing, create movement, and enhance the playful, modern vibes of the quilt top. I used Quilters Dream Bamboo blend batting, my favorite for a soft, snuggly baby quilt with the luxurious drape and feel of a high-end boutique splurge. Swipe through to see what this fun quilt top looked like before I quilted it.

Thanks so much for choosing me to quilt this for you, C.! The second quilt you sent me is next up in my queue and will be going on my frame tomorrow! 😍

Just a little happening over here... 😉. I was delighted when my client Jan asked for on her beautiful 69" x 69" with so much negative space just begging to be decorated with dramatic quilting! I used from Karlee Porter and Superior's variegated in Molokini pulls the rich, blues, greeens and purples from Jan's batik fabrics into the white fabric to make the quilting design even more impactful. Quilters Dream Wool batting gives this quilt it's scrumptious loft and emphasizes the texture of the quilting design. The only downside? Jan made this quilt as a gift -- and now she has to give it away! Swipe through to see the whole quilt, detail shots, and the quilt top before quilting.

Thank you so much for choosing me to quilt your gorgeous bear paw quilt, Jan, and thank you for trusting me with the quilting design and thread suggestions. It was a pleasure to quilt for you!

I had so much fun quilting this Halloween wallhanging for my client Paula! I used by Anne Bright to add a little whimsy with some quilted swirls, spiderwebs and spiders! I used Quilters Dream Cotton Deluxe loft batting and selected Glide thread in color Halloween to give just enough contrast against the gray and white applique and background fabrics. This adorable machine applique pattern is by Debra Grogan of The Quilt Factory and Paula will be adding some hand embroidery and three-dimensional embellishments to finish it off now that it's quilted. Thank you for choosing me to quilt this adorable project for you, Paula!

Finally finished my 66" x 66" that I started in March! Pattern by Jen Kingwell, machine pieced and long arm quilted by me. This was a fun challenge project but my next quilt is gonna be all STRAIGHT seams! 🤣. I quilted it with in color Cotton Candy and used Quilters Dream Cotton Deluxe loft batting for that extra weight, warmth and substance that I love for a quilt that needs to be warm and snuggly! My entire arsenal of Bernina machines were involved in this project: pieced on both my 790 Plus and my 475QE, quilted on my Q24 with Q-Matic, and I machine embroidered the label on my 700E. This quilt is on its way to my mother-in-law for a belated 85th birthday gift and I hope she will like it! (Did I use enough PINK?!). Thanks for the fabulous pattern, Jen!

I am so impressed by this pieced by my client Lindsay! 😍🤩. Lindsay started making her 60" x 60" Ultraviolet Radial quilt in a workshop with Audrey Esary of , hosted by Charlotte Modern Quilt Guild. Lindsay's piecing was smooth and precise and her color palette has so much strength and energy. Lindsay is one of many quilters who enjoys (and excels at) doing her own quilting on her domestic machine for most quilts, but she decided to treat herself to professional long arm quilting on this one because it was a challenge project that really pushed her and she is especially proud of how it turned out. It was such a treat for me to quilt this project for her!

The quilting design is a custom mix of two separate E2E designs, and . Alternating the straight line only/straight line with circles designs enabled me to create a much larger pattern repeat for the overall quilting design than would fit in the 24" throat of my , better complementing the massive block size. The horizontal straight line quilting reinforces the geometry of the straight set layout while echoing the "radial" pieced elements of the blocks, while the quilted "meatball" circles appear to drift across the surface of the quilt in a way that creates subtle movement. We chose So Fine 50 weight matte polyester thread in color Ferrari, a perfect match to Lindsay's lime green fabric, to ensure the quilting design would not upstage her masterful piecing job. Batting is Quilters Dream Poly Select.

Thank you so much for choosing me to quilt this for you, Lindsay!

Check out this lovely 42" x 42" , an original design (no pattern) pieced by my awesome client Carrie . I love her playful mix of pink, coral and peach prints for the star and the incorporation of that one off-center pinwheel that suggests a little twinkle!

I quilted this for Carrie with Judi Madsen's and YLI 40 Tex variegated machine quilting cotton thread in color Paris Boutique. Swipe to the second photo to see how the thread blends into the star fabrics but stands out playfully against the neutral background fabrics. We used my favorite baby quilt batting for a super-soft, snuggly, high end baby boutique feel: Quilters Dream Bamboo -- a lighter weight blend of all natural fibers: bamboo, silk, cotton, and Tencel. I stock this batting on 60" bolts to make it affordable for my baby quilt clients. Swipe through to the last pic to see Carrie's quilt top prior to quilting.

Thanks so much for choosing me to quilt this for you, Carrie!

Just finished quilting this GLORIOUS for my client Cheryl and I am in 😍! It's a and Cheryl's version is a massive masterpiece at 122" x 99". She used a luscious palette of hand dyed solids. I quilted it with Karlee Porter's using 40 Tex variegated cotton thread in Pastels. Hobbs Tuscany Cotton/Wool batting makes for a soft, extra-warm quilt with a not-too-puffy loft. Thanks for choosing me to quilt this for you, Cheryl!
