Self-regulation starts with understanding what’s happening inside the body ( interoception )🧠💛

Pediatric occupational therapists help kids recognize their interoceptive signals, like a fast heartbeat when they’re anxious ❤️‍🔥, a tight tummy when they’re nervous 😟, or knowing when they’re hungry, tired, or need a break 🍽️😴🚽 These internal cues are closely tied to emotions.

When kids can identify what their body is telling them, they’re better able to understand how they’re feeling—and we teach them tools 🧰 to help manage those feelings. This leads to better focus 🎯, fewer meltdowns 😌, improved social skills 🤝, and more success in everyday life 🌟
