Merry [belated] Christmas 🎄

It’s been a beautiful year to reflect upon — we really took it all in with the kids yesterday and enjoyed every bit of their excitement. Stella June was so excited to go to bed Christmas Eve night when the Santa tracker told us he was in South Florida 🎅

The year has been full of adventure, chaos, and endless love. We have had a few surgeries, an ER visit, and a lot of exciting trips and memories as a family. We have merged two businesses, exponentially grown, and have been blessed with amazing clients.

and I are so grateful for the opportunities we have taken and for all of those who have supported us throughout this year!!

They say just start.

Yes. They. Who is they?

It doesn’t matter. It’s true. Just start.

Putting your shoes on (or not), getting to the area of movement, and starting to do something, anything.

Planning out meals, going to the grocery store, meeting your accountability coach for the first time, scheduling the therapy appointment — whatever it is, it’s a start.

Start over a million times until you find the recipe that works. The recipe that pushes your discipline. The recipe where you start seeing small changes and results.

If you keep starting, you’ll add onto it and you’ll progress. Get through the first 10 minutes, the first 2 weeks, the first 3 meetings…

You CAN.
My Pro Tip: Find accountability that is NOT you, your family, or your close friend. Pro Tip #2: Write down your WHY.

Does it ever drive you crazy, just how fast the night changes?
The days are flying by. We’re getting older whether we like it or not — and doing nothing doesn’t keep us the same, it makes us regress.

Waiting for the perfect time is how strength fades, energy dips, and years slip away.

The right time isn’t coming. The time is now. 🏃‍♂️

Now is when you build the strength to lift your grandkids. 🫶🏼
The energy to care for aging parents. 💕
The resilience to stay sharp in your career. 👌🏼
The freedom to travel, move, and actually enjoy the life you worked so hard to create. 🙌🏼

This video isn’t just about the Elf on the Shelf.

This video is about taking time.

This fall has been busy to say the least. The merger to create Berman Health Club has required an exponential increase in hours worked in addition to the season ramping up, training, and keeping up with a family.

Stella asked me one day if I will “Take a break” to do that for her after we were talking about something she asked me to do with her.

That sank in.

We run - we are always running - we are always “busy”. There won’t be a “good time” for weight loss, for improving your exercise routine, for changing your meal plan to increase your longevity, to go to weekly appointments. There won’t be the “right time”. We always need to make time.

Priorities — they are important, but what holds us to the priorities we set? Or do we actually set them the way they should be — or do we set them by how society tells us they need to be?

Quit waiting for things to calm down. Change your boundaries. Change your mood. Change your daily hamster wheel.

Let’s think about the long term outcome and then change our day to day 🙌🏼

Consistency.

Not motivation.

Does discipline, determination, and drive play a role? Of course. Consistency to maintain it all is the driving force. 🚗

Consistency for your brain, kids, heart, liver, gut. Consistency for your sleep, energy, patience, fuel. Consistency for results.

We don’t need to be perfect. We don’t need to be 10000% on everyday. We need to show up. We need something.

“I don’t know how you do it all.”
I stay consistent with basics — water, movement, protein, playing with my kids.

Do I get off track? Yes. It doesn’t stay that way.
Do I lack sleep? Yes. I’m not perfect.
Do I drink caffeine? Mostly yes. I also drink a ton of water.

Consistency. Not perfection.

The Holidays are a lot a bit sweet and a little bit naughty, right? Don’t let it be the other way around 👊🏼

It’s okay not to be perfect. It’s okay to have flexibility. It’s okay to “cheat a little”. It’s okay to have balance. It’s okay to be off schedule.

Should you LIVE? Yes. Would it be most ideal to still avoid your sensitivities? YES.

You will recover from your macros being a little bit off. You will recover from your sleep being a little bit off. You likely will even recover from one too many spiked apple ciders or your favorite Christmas cookie 🎄 though avoiding your inflammatory foods and resetting quickly will expedite the recovery process!
