Scoliosis pain is often influenced by the small, repeated habits that make up everyday life: how we move, sit, lift, and rest throughout the day.

🚶Staying gently active helps keep muscles engaged and reduces stiffness, while good posture and regular movement breaks can limit ongoing strain on the spine. Simple changes during daily tasks, like lifting with control or avoiding uneven loading, can also make a meaningful difference over time.

👉However, when discomfort becomes persistent or starts to interfere with daily activities, general tips may not be enough. Scoliosis-specific rehabilitation focuses on how the spine moves, compensates, and adapts, helping guide safer movement patterns and long-term pain management.

If pain continues despite lifestyle adjustments, a personalised assessment can help identify the right next steps.

In December, our ScoliCare Naples team had the incredible opportunity to observe two spinal surgeries at the Paley Institute in West Palm Beach. Dr. Arun Hariharan, MD, MS graciously invited us to join him and Dr. David Feldman in the OR, and witnessing their expertise firsthand was an absolute honor.
Watching their precision and teamwork, and learning directly from leaders in the field was truly inspiring. Moments like these strengthen our clinical understanding and reinforce our mission at ScoliCare Naples: to deliver evidence‑based, patient‑centered scoliosis care.
We’re grateful for the invitation, the mentorship, and the chance to learn from such exceptional surgeons, and their amazing team!✨

đź©° Scoliosis & Dance: what every dancer, parent and teacher should know

Dance demands balance, control and symmetry, but scoliosis can quietly change how the body moves.
A spinal curve doesn’t mean a dancer can’t thrive.

It does mean their body works differently.

✨ Scoliosis can affect:
• flexibility (one side may move more freely than the other)
• balance and turns
• stamina and breathing
• confidence

The key? Early awareness and the right support.

With scoliosis-specific care, dancers can learn to actively self-correct posture in 3D, protect their spine during growth, and keep doing what they love, safely and confidently.

đź‘€ Teachers: notice asymmetries early
🤍 Parents: screen early and support emotionally
đź©° Dancers: scoliosis bends the spine, not your potential

Early detection can change outcomes, on and off the stage.

Does scoliosis stop progressing? 🦴

Short answer: not always.

Scoliosis is a progressive condition, which means curves can worsen over time, especially during growth.

🔹 In children and teens, progression is often linked to growth spurts, making adolescence the highest-risk period.
🔹 In adults, curves may slow after growth stops, but scoliosis can still progress, particularly when spinal degeneration begins.

This is why scoliosis isn’t something to “wait and see.”
Early assessment helps identify progression risk, so care can start before curves become harder to manage.

At ScoliCare, we assess more than just the curve: we look at age, growth stage, curve type and severity to guide personalised, non-surgical care.

If you’ve noticed postural changes, in your child or yourself, book a scoliosis assessment and get it checked early.

Thoracolumbar scoliosis is a spinal curve that develops where the upper (thoracic) and lower (lumbar) spine meet.

It’s one of the most common curve types, especially in children and teens during growth.
Because this curve sits at a key transition point in the spine, it can affect posture, balance and movement as the body grows.

🔍 Common signs include:

• Uneven shoulders or hips
• Rib cage asymmetry
• Changes in posture or gait
• Back discomfort or muscle fatigue

Scoliosis is progressive, meaning curves can worsen over time, often quietly and without pain at first.
That’s why early assessment matters.

When scoliosis is identified early, non-surgical treatment options can be more effective.
At ScoliCare, we provide detailed scoliosis assessments and create individualised treatment plans, which may include advanced corrective bracing and scoliosis-specific exercises.

If you’ve noticed changes, booking an assessment is the first step.

Scoliosis is rarely misdiagnosed; it’s more often diagnosed too late. ⚠️

In children, early scoliosis signs can be subtle. Uneven shoulders, hips, or posture changes are often brushed off as “just growth” or “bad posture”, but scoliosis is progressive, especially during growth spurts.
The later it’s identified, the more complex it can become to manage.

The earlier it’s detected, the more effective and non-surgical treatment options can be.
That’s why awareness matters.

Small signs today can prevent big problems tomorrow.
At ScoliCare, we focus on early detection, accurate assessment, and proactive care, because timing matters when it comes to scoliosis.
Noticing changes in posture or symmetry?

Trust your instincts and get it checked.

A scoliosis X-ray can change everything. 🦴

It’s not just a scan, it’s the roadmap for treatment.

An X-ray shows us how large the curve is, where it sits, how much rotation is present, and how likely it is to progress. One key number we always look at? The Cobb angle.

👉 10° or more = scoliosis

From there, treatment is fully personalised — from targeted exercises and bracing to more intensive care when needed.

Here’s something every family should know: all big curves start small.

Catching scoliosis early means more non-surgical options and better long-term outcomes, especially during growth. That’s why, at ScoliCare, every care plan begins with a detailed assessment and accurate X-ray analysis — because the right information leads to better care.

Noticing posture changes or uneven shoulders?

Don’t wait. Early answers matter.

General chiropractic or physiotherapy care is not specific enough to correct scoliosis — and that difference changes everything.

Scoliosis is a complex, progressive 3D condition. Other treatments may loosen you up or ease muscle tension…
👉 but it won’t reduce or correct the actual curve.

At ScoliCare, we don’t do general chiropractic or physiotherapy. Instead, our Scoliosis Clinicians specialize in evidence-based, scoliosis-specific treatment using:
🔹 ScoliBalance® – a personalized corrective exercise program built on CBP® structural correction principles, Schroth and other scoliosis specific exercise methods
🔹 ScoliBrace® – a revolutionary 3D over-corrective brace that also incorporates CBP® principles to target the spine’s structure.

Together, this powerful combination actively improves posture, reduces the curve when possible, balances uneven spinal loading, and helps patients avoid progression — often without surgery.

If you’re exploring chiropractic options for scoliosis, ask one simple question: Does it treat the symptoms… or the curve itself?

We’re here to guide you toward what actually works. 💙

Is this just a growth change… or could it be scoliosis?
It’s a question many parents have, and you’re not alone.

Childhood scoliosis often starts quietly. Kids usually don’t feel pain, and the early signs can be subtle. That’s why awareness and regular screening matter so much, especially during growth spurts.

Early detection means:
âś…Curves are easier to treat
âś…The spine is still flexible
âś…We can stay ahead of progression
âś…Children get the best chance for long-term success

Treatments like ScoliBalance® exercise and ScoliBrace® corrective bracing have helped many children improve, especially when started early.

If you’re unsure whether something looks “off,” we’re here to help you understand what’s normal and what isn’t. Early action makes the biggest difference. 💙

What is MovMnt’s “WHY”...?

LIFE is short and it should be lived, experienced and enjoyed with a happy, healthy and and fully active lifestyle. Well...that’s MovMnt’s opinion on it anyway. The problem is LIFE is also a “full contact sport.” The Human Spine and Nervous System, have an integrated and integral relationship in respect to overall Health, Function and Physiology. The Spine has a “Normal Position” that it should be in or over time or it will break down at accelerated rates not only causing structural weakness, but Pain, Limited Range of Motion and even total failure of the Spine resulting in Bone Problems, Disc Problems, Nerve Compression, Facet Compression and Degenerative Joint Disease. How does this happen you might ask? There are an endless amount of ways this can happen and they are all unique to You such as; birth, falls as a child, the development years with possible congenital spinal/developmental issues, more trauma, bad postural patterns, moving from teen years to young adults, then into our adult to middle age working years and progressing into our later adult years. Each and every one of us has our own individual compilation of stresses over the course of our life put on our individual structural support system called our Spine. For most people when I see them they have been Suffering in Pain for an unnecessarily long time simply because no one has helped them put their own personal puzzle together on WHY they are actually in Pain and and having problems. They have been getting “treated” and not getting “Fixed.” Our relationship begins with an in depth history, examination, functional assessment and x-ray studies being performed first to help assist each patient in a focused investigative effort to determine WHY they have Spinal/Joint/Structural problems. Only after this can we most accurately determine HOW they can Best be helped. Sometimes that is with us, sometimes that is with someone else. Bottomline, we are not here to waste time but to help people Get Results. IF we can help you we move forward with in-depth explanation on exactly WHAT is causing your Problems, WHY this is happening, HOW to Best fix/help the Pain/Problem and keep the Results. From there we design a fully personalized rehabilitation program in office and at home with the Goal being to provide Normal Spinal/Structural/Joint biomechanics to help stop the Pain and Progression of your Problems. This is done predictably and consistently with patients of all ages and conditions. The results can also be sustained through a personalized home rehabilitation system with the Goal of Stabilizing your Results. When this happens for people their LIFE is greatly enhanced by creating a more happy, healthy and active lifestyle that they can Sustain. That is vitally important. Not just a short term help, something that you can add to your lifestyle that pays dividends for Life. So our WHY is to help you make your LIFE all that you want it to be. Shouldn’t your Goals become more than just dreams? We would love to help you, We Are Ready, Are You..? Dr. T.
