Let’s come together for Benny! The Bike Stop Cafe and Gansett Giving are teaming up on Sunday, November 2nd from 3-7 PM to support Benny Thomas, a 9-year-old student from Narragansett living with a rare genetic condition.

This fundraiser will feature a silent auction with gift certificates to local businesses, theater and sports tickets, wine tastings, resort accommodations, and more - all to help raise funds for a mobility van that can safely accommodate Benny’s wheelchair.

We will be hosting a fundraiser with Gansett Giving on Sunday, November 2nd, for Benny Thomas. Benny is a 9 year old student at Narragansett Elementary who was recently diagnosed with CAMK2B, a rare genetic mutation, which affects brain function and neurological development. This fundraiser is to raise money to purchase a mobility van that will be able to accommodate his wheelchair.

We will be having a raffle and silent auction featuring gift certificates to local businesses, theater tickets, sports tickets, wine tastings, resort accommodations, and more! $15 suggested donation at the door. Tickets will be available at The Bike Stop Cafe beginning Wednesday, October 15th. Any business owners or managers that would like to donate a raffle or auction prize, please either leave a comment, send me a message via social media or send an email to gansettgiving@gmail.com

For anyone who can not attend the fundraiser but would like to make a contribution, you can send your donation via venmo to and note Benny Thomas fundraiser. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to purchasing a mobility van. Should we exceed our goals, the additional funds will go towards Benny's care and medical bills.

Lastly, if anyone has any contacts with a company that sells mobility vans, please let me know. This is by far the largest fundraising goal we have ever had, but I have faith in our community and believe we can all rise to the challenge to help this family in their time of need.
