✨ BIG NEWS — OUR BILL HAS PASSED! ✨

As Co-Founder and Co-President of the Rhode Island Association of Aesthetic Providers (RIAAP), I couldn’t be more proud to share that our bill has officially been signed into law — a huge step forward for the safety and integrity of medical aesthetics in Rhode Island. 🙌

It is incredibly rare for a bill to pass on its first attempt, but we did it — together. Our RIAAP members include plastic surgeons, physicians, dermatologists, NPs, PAs, RNs, and aestheticians. We came together across specialties with one unified mission: to protect patients and ensure that aesthetic medicine in our state is held to the highest clinical standards.

On a personal note, the greatest silver lining has been the relationships formed along the way. I now collaborate with and refer to medical professionals I never would have met without this journey — and I’m better for it.

A special thank you to my Co-Founder and Co-President, Sarah Beatrice — one of the smartest, most compassionate people I’ve ever known. Sarah, you are an amazing friend. 💙

I also want to take a moment to thank all of my patients. So many of you supported this effort — whether it was by writing letters to the House and Senate or kindly rescheduling your appointments when I had to dash up to testify at the State House — you showed up for me. And I will never forget that. This has been one of the most challenging and meaningful experiences of my career, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support from all of you.

This is only the beginning. Our work continues, and our next chapter is all about education. RIAAP will now focus on developing training and resources that raise the bar for providers across the state.

This victory belongs to all of us who care deeply about patient safety, professional standards, and the future of medical aesthetic in Rhode Island.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Ilana Black, FNP-BC aesthetic injector to Inspire Medical Spa.

Ilana has been working in the medical field for 12 years, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island in 2013 and a Master of Science in Nursing from Simmons University in 2020.

She has a background in primary care and community health but has always had a strong passion for aesthetic medicine. Ilana’s focus is on providing personalized treatment plans to help clients look and feel their best, while prioritizing safety and comprehensive understanding of the latest aesthetic practices.

I want to formally acknowledge the departure of our dear Tricia from Inspire. Tricia has been with us since the very beginning. After almost a decade of hard work, loyalty beyond words, and dedication to making Inspire bigger and better, it is time for her to move to Florida to enjoy some fun in the sun!! Tricia is truly family to all of us here. We will miss her kind and caring way and her smiling face every day.

On the bright side…We have an awesome new place to visit in Florida! We promise to post pictures when we are poolside or on her boat with her.

This patient had tear trough filler placed by another medspa prior to coming to Inspire. Notice the hue of blue, also known as the Tyndall effect in the top “before” photo. This occurs when filler is placed too superficially or the filler migrates up to the surface.

Notice her tear troughs in the lower “after” photo with just a little bit of Radiesse placed in her medial cheek at the arrow. The results are incredible! Natural, no hollowing or dark circles.

“I’ve used a lot of filler,” she said, “but this is a secret weapon. It’s wayyyy better!”
