Last night we celebrated our 2nd Annual RIAAP Fundraiser — and my heart is full.

I am incredibly proud to serve as Co-Founder and Co-President of the Rhode Island Association of Aesthetic Providers alongside Sarah Beatrice, MSN, RN, APRN, AGNP-C, who spearheaded this beautiful and meaningful Gala. Her leadership and dedication made the evening truly exceptional.

It was a night of collaboration — bringing together medical aesthetic providers of all educational backgrounds with one shared mission: raising standards, ensuring safety, and promoting ethical, responsible care in medical aesthetics across Rhode Island.

We were deeply honored to present Governor Daniel McKee with the Medical Aesthetics Safety Advocate Award. He accepted in person, and we are grateful for his continued support of our association and Rhode Island’s small businesses.

Thank you to our outstanding speakers, Steven Weiner and Jonathan Brower, for delivering educational and inspiring talks.

✨ BIG NEWS — OUR BILL HAS PASSED! ✨

As Co-Founder and Co-President of the Rhode Island Association of Aesthetic Providers (RIAAP), I couldn’t be more proud to share that our bill has officially been signed into law — a huge step forward for the safety and integrity of medical aesthetics in Rhode Island. 🙌

It is incredibly rare for a bill to pass on its first attempt, but we did it — together. Our RIAAP members include plastic surgeons, physicians, dermatologists, NPs, PAs, RNs, and aestheticians. We came together across specialties with one unified mission: to protect patients and ensure that aesthetic medicine in our state is held to the highest clinical standards.

On a personal note, the greatest silver lining has been the relationships formed along the way. I now collaborate with and refer to medical professionals I never would have met without this journey — and I’m better for it.

A special thank you to my Co-Founder and Co-President, Sarah Beatrice — one of the smartest, most compassionate people I’ve ever known. Sarah, you are an amazing friend. 💙

I also want to take a moment to thank all of my patients. So many of you supported this effort — whether it was by writing letters to the House and Senate or kindly rescheduling your appointments when I had to dash up to testify at the State House — you showed up for me. And I will never forget that. This has been one of the most challenging and meaningful experiences of my career, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support from all of you.

This is only the beginning. Our work continues, and our next chapter is all about education. RIAAP will now focus on developing training and resources that raise the bar for providers across the state.

This victory belongs to all of us who care deeply about patient safety, professional standards, and the future of medical aesthetic in Rhode Island.

Ilana has been working in the medical field for 12 years, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island in 2013 and a Master of Science in Nursing from Simmons University in 2020.

She has a background in primary care and community health but has always had a strong passion for aesthetic medicine. Ilana’s focus is on providing personalized treatment plans to help clients look and feel their best, while prioritizing safety and comprehensive understanding of the latest aesthetic practices.
