"AAMI ST108 and How it Might Affect You"

The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) recently introduced ST108-2023 (Water for the processing of medical devices), a new standard for the cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of reusable medical devices. This standard evolved from a previous Technical Information Report (TIR34) which focused specifically on water quality required for medical device processing.

PPS is a family of pharmaceutical grade, Polyethersulfone (PES) sterilizing filters. This double layered, hydrophilic filter is optimized for retention and provides added security when compared to a single layer model. PPS filters deliver high flow and throughput across a wide pH range with low binding characteristics (much lower than cellulose acetate and nylon) for filtering liquids with preservatives and proteins that can adsorb to media.
