Extreme cold is expected this weekend in New England. Protect yourself and your loved ones by taking a few simple precautions. Dress in layers and cover exposed skin to prevent frostbite. Limit time outdoors and take frequent breaks to warm up. Check on older adults, neighbors, and anyone without reliable heat. Keep pets indoors when possible, and make sure space heaters are used safely and away from flammable items. If you must travel, keep an emergency kit in your vehicle. Cold temperatures can be dangerous, but a little preparation goes a long way in staying safe and healthy.

Please be sure to check in over the weekend at City of Nashua Office of Emergency Management for emergency updates in Nashua.
