Life Coping Inc. was founded in 1994 by Nashua physician, Sidney Curelop and his wife Ellen, a registered nurse. At that time, they recognized that great winds of change were on the horizon for long term care. They understood that traditional modes of long term care, particularly nursing home care, would not be as readily embraced as it had been by previous generations. In addition, the cost of nu
rsing home and assisted living care has become financially prohibitive for most individuals, couples and families. Depending on the facility the cost of an assisted living facility or nursing home can be as much as $100,000 per year. Alternatively, Life Coping regularly assists clients with staying at home for $25,000-$30,000 or less per year. Older Americans now wish to remain at home, safely with cost effective services and supports in a familiar, comfortable environment. is a licensed case management agency operating throughout the State of New Hampshire. We have a long standing partnership with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Service, Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services. Since 1994 Life Coping has developed into the largest independent case management agency in the State of New Hampshire. It’s staff, comprised of registered nurses, nurse practicioners and social workers assists older American and their families in identifying needed services and finding service providers. Typically Life Coping will sit down with an individual, couple or family and assess and identify needs. Most often the needs focus around the activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, personal care or homemaker services that assist with meal preparation, house cleaning, maintenance and transportation. Needs can also include legal, financial or social. is a conflict free case management agency. Because we do not provide any direct home care or other services we can be 100% objective in assessing an individuals needs. Any recommended services are then sub-contracted out to licensed and vetted home care agencies or other providers. As such, there is no temptation to over prescribe services. Often, Life Coping is contacted to manage a crisis when after a fall, a recent illness or hospitalization and a family needs guidance. We assist in navigating the complexities of long term care before or after a crisis arises. While Life Coping began working with the elderly and adult disabled we have since expanded into providing case management services to the developmentally disabled. We also work statewide in providing case management services for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of New England. In 2011 Life Coping began providing private case management services to those with mental illness and chronic disease. Despite working with people with different challenges, our goal is the same: to assist individuals to remain safely, independently and cost effectively at home while improving quality of life to the fullest extent possible.
