My friends, you made it through March!

But unfortunately turning the calendar doesn’t just flip the switch back to “normal”.

Think of it like a bell curve. You’ve passed the peak part and each day brings you closer to the end of the “March Madness” cycle.

Which means that all of the stuff we’ve been talking about will still help.

And do yourself a favor, mark it on the calendar for next January to start making sure you’re moving, sleeping, and feeling those feelings.

The March 2026 version of you will thank you for it.

P.S. - Thanks for learning along with me. I love sharing all of the nerdy theory stuff I’ve picked up along the many years I’ve been in practice.

March can be rough. And full disclosure, sometimes it starts in February and goes through late April - but more on that in the upcoming days.

There are things you can do to make March easier on yourself though.

1) Feel your feelings, don’t shove them down. This is the single most common cause of pain (both physical & emotional). Meaning it causes everything from headaches to anger outbursts.

2) Stress Management - This ties into the first one, but it really does impact how back March is going to be.

3) Movement - No, you don’t have to be a marathon runner for it to help. All movement moves your Qi, and that helps out in March.

If march has left you miserable, send me a DM so I can help you.

Tomorrow won't get better if you don't make a change today.

Ginger-Greens Egg Drop Soup

Now that the days are getting longer, my chickens have decided it’s time to get back to work. After a slow winter, they’re finally laying more eggs again, which means I have plenty to use up.

Ingredients:
4 cups broth (chicken or vegetable)
1-inch piece of fresh ginger, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp tamari or soy sauce
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup spring greens (arugula, spinach, or bok choy)
2 scallions, sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: sesame oil or red pepper flakes for a little extra flavor

Instructions:
-In a pot, heat the broth over medium heat. Add the ginger and garlic and let it simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse the flavor.
-Stir in the tamari or soy sauce, then add the greens. Let them wilt slightly.
-Reduce the heat to low. Slowly drizzle the beaten eggs into the soup while stirring gently in one direction. This will create those classic silky egg ribbons.
-Remove from heat and stir in the scallions. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- If using, drizzle with a little sesame oil or sprinkle with red pepper flakes before serving.

This soup strikes the perfect balance. It is light and fresh with spring ingredients but still warming enough for those early-season days when it is not quite time for cold salads yet.

When you work with March instead of against it, you gain momentum.

Inspired, clear, and ready to take action—that’s the gift March brings us.

Struggling with indecisiveness? That’s a Gallbladder issue. The Gallbladder is responsible for decision-making in acupuncture theory. When it’s weak or out of balance, you second-guess yourself, overthink everything, and get stuck in “analysis paralysis.”

A word of caution my friends….

The Liver/Gallbladder meridians can be rather rigid when they’re out of balance.

What do I mean by this? Well you know that thing where you hear a bit of advice and try to do it perfectly or not at all?

Ya, that’s the Liver channel.

It’s the thing that keeps people from taking a walk for 5 minutes because ‘it doesn’t count unless it’s 30 minutes’.

It also hears things like “eat more greens” and freaks out if a french fry is consumed.

This is part of what contributes to the Madness of March.

Your meridians are so out of whack that they’re trying to do things extra perfect, which adds to the frustration of the season.

The best way to combat this is to ease up a bit.

Loosen the tight grip on the rules, go against the desire to do it “right”.

Aim for 50% of what you think you “should” be doing.

Why?

Because the less you clamp down, the easier the energy flows through the meridians, and the more "in balance" you become.

And if you're sitting there thinking, "easier said than done," send me a DM and tell me what's going on.

Because I get it. I’ve been there and know the way to a calmer place.

I can help you.

What micro moments do you take each day?

Think of them as the compound interest effect of self care.

It’s the tiny moments where you take a second to breathe.

Where you go to bed early and get enough sleep.

When you stretch your muscles every so often while doing your taxes.

This is what consistent self care looks like.

It’ll help far more than white knuckling it through and then taking a quick vacation

Roasted Radish & Parmesan Toast with Arugula

I have a problem - I love fresh, homemade bread. The kind with a crisp crust and a chewy, slightly tangy center that makes store-bought bread seem sad in comparison.

But, I hate baking it.

I don’t have the patience to babysit a sourdough starter. I don’t enjoy the precise measurements, the waiting, or the inevitable flour-covered kitchen.

So, until I find someone willing to make me bread - I eat this recipe with the store-bought version.

Even then, it’s a simple, perfect spring-time snack.

Ingredients:
1 slice of fresh sourdough (or your favorite good bread)
1 tbsp high-quality butter or olive oil
3-4 radishes, quartered
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
A handful of fresh arugula, kale or other hearty green
Flaky salt and black pepper to taste
Optional: a squeeze of lemon juice

Instructions:
-Roast the radishes – Preheat the oven to 400°F. Toss radish quarters with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast for 15-20 minutes, stirring once, until tender and slightly golden. In the last few minutes, sprinkle with parmesan and let it melt.
-Toast the bread – While the radishes are roasting, toast the sourdough until golden and crisp. Spread with butter or drizzle with olive oil.
-Assemble – Layer a handful of arugula over the toast, top with roasted radishes, and finish with more parmesan, flaky salt, and a squeeze of lemon if using.

March makes staying stuck almost impossible. Fighting it just makes it harder. Pay attention to what it’s pushing to the surface, it’s often trying to tell you something.

There’s a saying in the acupuncture world: If you have a pain in the butt, you’re probably dealing with a pain in the butt in your life.

Which brings me to my next lesson for March.

I once treated a woman who absolutely despised her boss. But that’s not why she came to me. She came in for sciatica—specifically, pain in her left butt cheek. She’d been dealing with it for years, and nothing gave her lasting relief.

Her job stress was eating away at her, so she decided to try a different approach and started working through it in Coaching sessions.

And guess what happened? Her sciatica cleared up.

Because it was never really about the nerve. It was about her job and how stuck and out of control she felt.

Repressed emotions don’t just disappear. They settle into the body as tension and pain.

So let’s get to the root of the issue. If this sounds familiar, send me a DM, and let’s talk about a plan.

P.S. Acupuncture is also really effective for sciatica. Sometimes it’s emotions, sometimes it’s a physical issue, and sometimes it’s both—which is why it helps to have multiple ways to approach the same problem.

In TCM, this season is all about clearing out stagnation—physically, emotionally, and mentally. Whether it’s decluttering, or finally dealing with that thing you’ve been avoiding, this is the time to make space for what’s next.

Reminder: Repressed emotions cause physical pain.

Here are some of the most common pains I see in my office that have deep roots in emotions:

TMJ
Neck and shoulder tension
Headaches
Insomnia
PMS
Menstrual cramps
Sciatica
When you push feelings down, they don’t disappear. They settle into your body as tension. Over time, that tension turns into pain. And eventually, your body demands you pay attention.

I know because I’ve been there. I used to be the queen of “I don’t have time to deal with this.”

But bodies don’t wait. If you don’t make time, they’ll make it for you.

You don’t have to let it get to that point.

Send me a DM and let’s talk about it, because tomorrow won't get better if you don't make changes today.
