The hesitation on the stairs.
The longer time it takes to get up.
The walks that aren’t quite as long as they used to be.

Just like people, animals can develop arthritis as they age — and managing it isn’t always one-size-fits-all.

That’s where compounded medications can help. With a prescription from your veterinarian, medications can sometimes be prepared in forms or doses that are easier for pets to take — especially when standard options aren’t a good fit.

Because comfort matters at every stage of life — for the pets who’ve been by our side all along.

If your veterinarian has prescribed treatment for arthritis, we’re here to help support that care.

Up to 50% of patients don’t take medications as directed.
Not because they don’t care — but because something about the medication doesn’t fit.

Maybe it’s hard to swallow.
Maybe the side effects are frustrating.
Maybe the schedule just doesn’t work with real life.

Here’s the important part:
That doesn’t mean you failed. It may mean the medication needs adjusting.

Before skipping doses or stopping a prescription, talk to your pharmacist. We can help you think through what’s not working and, when appropriate, work with your provider to explore options.

Medication should work with you — not against you.

If something feels off, let’s talk.

Your thyroid may be small, but it plays a big role in how your body functions — from energy levels and metabolism to mood, heart rate, and temperature regulation.

For many people managing thyroid conditions, finding the right medication fit can take time. Dosing needs may change, sensitivities can develop, and consistency matters.

That’s where your pharmacist can be a valuable part of the care team.

With a prescription from your provider, compounded thyroid medications may offer options when standard formulations don’t feel like the right fit — whether that’s due to dosage needs, ingredient sensitivities, or form preferences.

If you’re managing a thyroid condition and have questions about your medication, don’t struggle in silence.

Ask your pharmacist. We’re here to help support your care.

January often comes with new insurance cards, new coverage rules… and a lot of questions.
If your prescription suddenly looks different — higher copays, coverage changes, or new requirements — it can feel overwhelming fast.

Here’s the important part:
You don’t have to figure it out by yourself.

Your pharmacist can help review your coverage, explain next steps, and talk through options — especially if your medication needs adjusting or isn’t covered the same way it was last year.

Before skipping doses or stopping a prescription, start a conversation. We’re here to help you navigate the changes and keep your care on track.

Personalized Options for Women’s Health
Hormonal and Non-hormonal Options for Menopausal Atrophy
Many women experience vaginal health issues that can be uncomfortable or difficult to manage with traditional medications. Conditions such as vaginal atrophy (thinning and dryness often related to menopause), lichen sclerosus (a skin condition that may cause itching or irritation), and recurrent bacterial vaginosis or yeast infections are more common than many people realize. Other concerns, including vaginal dryness, vulvodynia (vulvar pain), and hormonal-related irritation can also be challenging to address with medications available through standard retail pharmacies.

Because traditional medications can be limited in dosage forms or only contain one active ingredient, some women and their healthcare providers turn to compounded therapies for more personalized treatment options. Compounding allows pharmacists to make customized prescriptions designed specifically for an individual patient. Medications can be prepared as creams, suppositories, vaginal capsules, foams, or solutions, depending on what is most comfortable and convenient. When needed, the compounded preparation can include more than one active ingredient and is made with pH-balanced bases that are gentle and designed for vaginal tissue.

Compounding pharmacists work closely with healthcare providers to select the right combination of active ingredient and dosage form for each patient. Patients can also share what works best for them. For instance, if a cream feels messy or inconvenient, a mini vaginal suppository may be a better fit. Having these choices can make it easier for patients to stay consistent with their treatment plan.

Compounded medications offer options that give women and their healthcare providers the flexibility to tailor care to individual needs, preferences, and comfort. This personalized approach helps ensure that treatment decisions are as unique as the patients themselves.

Yeah… you’re not imagining it. Cold weather has a way of making old injuries louder, joints stiffer, and daily tasks a little more “ouch.”

But here’s the good news:
Pain relief doesn’t have to be one-size-fits-all.

At Wingate’s, our compounding team can work with your provider to create:
✔️ Custom-strength topical creams
✔️ Formulas without irritants or ingredients that don’t work for you
✔️ Combination pain relief options in one easy-to-use product
✔️ Forms that fit your life (creams, gels, capsules, and more)

Because winter may bring the aches…
but you don’t have to power through them alone.

As we celebrate 125 years of caring for our community, we’re here—just like always—to help you find relief that actually fits you.

Have questions about compounded pain relief? Give us a call or stop in—our team is happy to help.

Today we’re celebrating the veterinarians who keep our four-legged family members healthy, happy, and feeling their best.

At Wingate’s, we’re proud to support their work by crafting custom compounded medications—like easier-to-give liquids, soft chewables for picky pets, and transdermal options for cats who refuse pills.

For 125 years, we’ve believed in serving our entire community… and that absolutely includes the pets who are part of it.

If you’ve ever tried to give medication to a cat, you know… it’s basically an Olympic sport. 😼💨

That’s why this review from B. Warner means so much to us:

“I appreciate they make a soft chewable for my very picky and difficult-to-feed-pills cat.”

At Wingate’s, we get picky cats — the ones who can smell a pill hidden in cheese from three rooms away.
So we compound meds into forms they’re more likely to accept, like soft chewables and custom flavors, all made specifically for your pet’s needs.

And yes… we’ll even call you when it’s time for a refill and hold it if life gets busy.
Because caring for pets means caring for their humans, too.
