There is an uproar in PANDAS cases in our practice now. Children and adults will come in with intrusive thoughts, anorexia/restrictive eating disorders, separation anxiety, and more. Some are even genetically susceptible to the infection that may have began in utero too. 🧬

Strep will travel throughout the body and live in the blood, brain and tissues long after antibiotics may not have killed off everything — which we see more often than not, as it unfortunately hides in scar tissue especially. 🩹 This is one reason strep may not show up positive on a standardized lab test. 💉🦠🔬
