Brian traveled almost every month for work, trained weights only 3x a week for 45-60 minutes, got in walking regularly and felt full throughout the entire process.

There were no unrealistic expectations of perfection, he kept a flexible strategy throughout working on incremental improvements every day and and every week.

Joe was already hitting a ton of activity when we first linked up, like a madman.

This was one of his biggest frustrations though, and something I see fairly common.

Tons of activity yet little results.

If you can relate, it’s frustrating as all heck.

We’ve been taught and trained that more = more.

Not getting the results you want?

Just move more.

You hear people say this all the time.

What about the guys like Joe though?

He owns multiple businesses.

Has a wife, kids, and tons of other responsibilities...

And he’s already doing 1.5hrs or more of activity a day!

Well, that answer is a bit different.

If all you had to do was get fit, it’d be pretty damn easy.

This is not about getting fit at all costs.

This is about living a balanced and enjoyable life.

So, for Joe we did a couple of key things that made all the difference:

1. Got clear on what his body actually needed for fuel each day and over time we shifted to 4 lower intake days and 3 high intake days since it fit his lifestyle better.

2. Got protein intake up.

3. Started training with load 3x a week pushing progression through more than just adding weight.

4. Cut alcohol down to 3x days a week.

Overall, this minimized his training time, gave him hours back every week and is creating the lean, mobile, and agile physique he wants.

We’ll tighten up with a bit more fat loss and then he’ll cruise into beach season feeling “plickety-plick-kapow”.

It’s not about doing more guys, it’s about doing the right things for you.

The fundamentals don’t change but I have guys on drastically different approaches based on what’s going to be the simplest path for them.

6 Habits That I Utilize To Stay Lean & Perform At My Best While Running My Business and Striving To Be The Best Husband & Father

1. Get up and go to bed at the same time 7-days a week - I’ve never felt more consistent in how I feel daily. No Sunday evening ahhh s**t I gotta get up early tomorrow.

2. Block & Schedule Everything On My Work Calendar - The night before I’ll then transfer this to a written pad with time blocks and my 3-4 major work hits for the day as well as personal.

3. Eat similar foods every single day - I love what I eat and this requires less thought to be consistent.

4. Minimal but hard training - I train weights hard 3x a week 45-60 min on a split I love. I Run intervals 2x a week right now to prep for 25 min max which is more running than I’ve ever done to prep for a couple 5k obstacle courses. On weekends I will walk and be active with my family.

5. Take a moment to appreciate my wife every day - This isn’t anything complicated. I love my wife and I want her to know it every single day, not just some days.

6. Meditate / Journal / Pray - This helps me keep my headspace clear and focused.

Seriously, take a moment and imagine it.

How would that impact your connection and communication with your wife?

How would that impact the relationship you have with your kids?

How would you feel when you step into a room?

What would the extra confidence do for you?

Really go deep and isolate those thoughts and feelings.

That’s the vision you need to isolate and remind yourself of every day.

To be a confident leader requires a strong self concept - self image, self esteem, & self belief.

When you feel intellectually a ten & physically a 4 it constricts your influence & power not just as a leader, but as a husband, father, and as a man.

Ruben, an M.D. had struggled with his weight since he was young.

He was into sports and he was active when he was younger, but became less active as he got older.

Like a lot of other men, it was always easy for Ruben to gain weight, but always hard to burn it off.

Ruben tried losing weight off and on for years. Sometimes seeing short term success, but the weight would always come back.

Life would get in the way time and time again. He wasn’t able to keep up each time he started an exercise plan

But now that Ruben an older M.D. with two kids, he really wanted to figure things out and get into a long term sustainable plan.

“You have to be around for your kids,” Ruben said.

So he got serious about the idea of taking care of himself.

Initially Ruben was skeptical about joining an online fitness mentorship. He had seen online fitness plans out there and thought they looked like gimmicks.

Even though he was skeptical, he decided to take action.

I told Ruben about my no BS approach and it quickly clicked with him and he signed on to the plan.

“It’s exactly what I was looking for,” Ruben told me.

He goes on to say, “I needed someone to teach me how to eat.”

I’ve heard this many times.

Some people can get themselves into a gym and they can put in the work.

But then they go home and undo all the hard work by eating too much food. Not to mention simply eating the wrong kinds of foods to support their goals.

Ruben was able to learn how to get his diet in line with his workouts.

From there he began to see progress quickly.

“When my nutrition is on point, I get encouragement for doing well.” Ruben highlights how the supportive environment has helped.

We are wired for comfort.

The body and mind want things to be easy for us.

Back in ancient times, this helped us to preserve energy and endure tough times of hunting and stress to survive.

But these days, we don’t have to struggle to survive and hunt for our own food like they did in ancient times.

Yet we still default to seeking the most comfort we can.

It’s understandable. I like to relax and enjoy myself just like anyone else.

But too much of that is not the best thing for us.

In fact, the brain’s desire to stay comfortable is often the exact thing that prevents us from doing what’s good for us.

Some people try starting an exercise program only to be left feeling sore and worn out right after they begin. They go too hard, too quickly.

And then they stop. Because they want to be comfortable again.

The truth is, it’s best to embrace the discomfort.

But it’s also best to do it with a clearly defined realistic plan.

This leads to a sustainable way to adapt through the discomfort and break through to new levels of personal achievement and success.

I have helped countless businessmen do this exact thing.

By working through a clear plan, these hard working family men with businesses were able to add an effective fitness plan into their already busy lives.

When Ryan joined The Fitness Rebellion he had:

- No idea on proper nutrition/diet
- No real workout routine or how to create a routine that would be effective despite knowing how to use most equipment in the gym
- No Energy and most days felt tired

He wanted to lose about 20lb and find the energy he used to have so that he could be the father and husband he wanted to be.
.And he wanted to regain the confidence he once had.
