One of my personal favorite things about being a doula is being able to help fathers and birth partners prepare for childbirth so that they can completely advocate for and nurture mama through the labor and childbirth. When you feel comfortable doing this yourself, I've done my job well. Besides preparing you with education and prenatal support, a doula's presence in the birth room is sometimes just that extra relief and moral support that is needed for the partners to do their partner thing. ❤

No matter your birth plan, dads, you CAN positively impact mom and baby. Be her peace, yes. Her supporter, yup. Her advocate, now that’s just sexy! We asked ...

There are so many amazing resources out there to help our kids grow in faith, but if we don't have a plan for using them, all the free downloads in the world won't help them grow deep faith roots!

Download my full "Start LITTLE" guide to actually start talking about faith with your kids, praying with them regularly, and teaching them the Bible, without feeling like you have to KNOW it all or DO it all.

Little habits is where it starts. And then? Then you can use all those other amazing resources.

A beautiful Rainbow baby for Tahlequah. I remember being so sad for her but also feeling so nurtured somehow by Mother Earth because how her pod surrounded her during her grief and supported her without judgement. That’s what we should all do for each other. Anyone else have A rainbow baby? I do. Show me a 🌈

This is devastating. I will be praying for Sha-Asia, he baby girl Khloe and their family tonight. May they find comfort and peace... and also a way to be heard.. may this event be a catalyst for us to do better.

"According to Williams, Washington felt pressured into having an epidural, and her death was due to the improper administration of the epidural. McLemore says that complications from anesthesia such as epidurals, though rare, is one of the top 10 causes of maternal deaths during labor. She also says that black and indigenous people are more likely to report experiencing “pressure and coercion or being repeatedly asked to do things you’ve already declined” during labor."""

The maternal mortality rate has been on the rise since the 1990s — especially among women of color

Close contact and early, exclusive breastfeeding helps a baby to thrive.

A woman with COVID-19 should be supported to

This is a helpful guide for parents trying to work from home while they care for their lil cherubs.
Of course, as with all infant "schedules", there must remain some fluidity - keeping basic routines in place.

Need to figure out a regular 2-nap schedule now that your baby is home with you and out of daycare? We're in the same situation! These schedule posts were inspired by my own need to organize my day so that I could give my kids structure and also have predictable time to work during their sleep times. If you have two working parents in the house, then you may want to split this time up with your partner, so that one person is "on" during activity block 1 and the other is "on" during activity block 2. We're only on day four of this in my house, but so far it's helped so much to have a predictable division of labor, so that my husband and I both have time to work and our kiddos get the attention and stimulation they need. Hope this helps! We also have a 3-nap schedule infographic on our blog and we're working on a 1-nap schedule. Please feel free to print and share! https://www.babysleepscience.com/single-post/2020/03/19/Activity-and-2-nap-Schedule-for-Babies-6-15-Months
