Southern New Hampshire Health has promoted Rebecca Cooper-Piela, MS, APRN-BC, CHCQM, to Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer.

Rebecca has been a beloved member of our organization for 30 years and continues to care for patients in the primary care setting at Foundation Medical Partners. Her deep clinical expertise, compassionate leadership style, and unwavering commitment to patient-centered care have made a meaningful difference for our patients, providers, and teams.

In her expanded role, Rebecca will lead our systemwide work in quality, safety, accreditation, regulatory readiness, value-based care, and population health. Her vision and experience will help strengthen our efforts across Southern NH Medical Center and Foundation Medical Partners.

Dr. Kazakis is an internal medicine physician at Downtown Medical Associates, where she provides comprehensive primary care to people of all ages. She’s passionate about building strong relationships with her patients and guiding them through every stage of life.

Dr. Kazakis especially loves helping patients manage cardiovascular health and supporting older adults through life’s transitions. “As we mature in age, our bodies and minds change. I really enjoy working with seniors and helping them navigate those changes,” she says.

Her approach to care is collaborative: “I’m not here to tell you what to do. I’m here to have a two-way conversation. My goal is to empower patients to make informed decisions about their health.”
Outside the office, Dr. Kazakis is a proud sports mother of four, an animal lover with two big dogs and three cats, and she rides horses in her free time.

Meet Rebecca, a dedicated Patient Service Representative at Foundation OB/GYN, where she has been an essential part of the team for nearly four years. As a receptionist, Rebecca is often the first friendly face patients see when they walk through the door or the calming voice they hear when they call the office. She takes pride in truly listening to patients and remembering them personally, helping everyone feel welcomed and cared for.

Rebecca joined Southern NH Health because of her passion for the medical field and her long-term goal of becoming a nurse. What inspires her to stay? The patients she supports every day and the colleagues who have become like family.
