As Deaf Awareness Month comes to a close, one of our staff members reminded us of the important distinction between being an ally and a savior within the Deaf community. Here are a few examples to consider. When in doubt, the best rule of thumb is to defer to the Deaf person. And if you look back on a situation and realize you may have handled it differently than you should have, it’s okay - reach out, acknowledge it, and let the Deaf person know. It’s all part of the learning process.

Did you know that our 7 Prospect St. location was our first established location in the 1920's? This location houses our InteGreat Clinic, onsite pharmacy, and serves our adult population. Our blue awning was removed and is being replaced, and the beautiful white architecture around the front door is being revitalized, creating an inviting entrance for our clients. 💙

Today we remember.
September 11th was a day that changed countless lives and left a lasting impact on our nation. Many faced grief, anger, and uncertainty in the wake of unimaginable tragedy.

As we reflect, we honor the lives lost, the courage of first responders, and the resilience of communities who came together in the face of hardship. May this day remind us of the strength found in unity and compassion.

Today is Read a Book Day, and we’re excited to highlight a wonderful initiative from our friends and neighbors at Crosby Bakery! They recently partnered with St. Joseph Hospital to pass the time and lift spirits, stop by their shop with a book for their two in-store bookcases, and you’ll get a free donut in return. 🍩📚

Graham, from St. Joe’s also joined us for a recent Empower Hour, if you haven’t had a chance to watch that episode yet, be sure to click below!
