“Daniel devoted his life to mental health care and substance abuse recovery. His career began in substance use disorder treatment and ended in leadership of a community based mental health agency. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he later earned degrees in Psychology, Counseling, and Business, and became a respected leader in mental health services across Tennessee. He was known for mentoring professionals who went on to become strong, compassionate leaders.

Guided by the belief that “Everyone is doing the best they can; if they could do better, they would,” Daniel approached his work—and life—with deep empathy and respect for all people.”
