Most women I work with have spent years trying to fix their body.

Whether that be trying to lose weight or get more toned or get a flatter stomach, etc.

But even after years of this, they still feel uncomfortable with their bodies. They can lose the weight sometimes, but they’re still not happy.

You probably feel like you have no willpower or self control around food and that is why you can't break free from bingeing. 😕

You probably feel like you have to avoid having "binge" foods in the house, curb your cravings with “healthier” foods and fill up on water in order to force yourself to have more willpower. ❌

Do you feel guilty for eating more than other people?

Just because someone else chooses to eat the salad, doesn't mean that that's what your body needs or wants.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Every person's body is different and has different needs (and that's a good thing!)🙌🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What and how much you are hungry for depends on many factors:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
> your activity level
> when you ate last
> how much you ate last
> your personal preferences
and so much more!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Basing your decision off what someone else chooses can lead you to feeling deprived and binge eating later in secret!

I was talking with a past client who struggled with feeling guilty for eating at social events and would always end up overeating.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we dove deeper, she realized that it was because the food she felt out of control with had been deemed "off-limits" and "bad" for so long. 😒⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even after allowing herself to eat a hot dog at the BBQ, she found herself constantly stressing about how she would make up for it. 💭 This led her to feel guilty and binge in prep for starting over, which was very frustrating. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We worked on ditching the diet rules and giving herself permission to enjoy food without guilt with attunement to what felt good for her body. 😋⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🎉 She found that she could eat a hot dog and move on without feeling like she "failed" and this reduced the urge to binge. She was astonished by this since she thought she had no self control around those foods. ⠀

It's common and easy to look at food and label it as "bad" and "good". And sure, there are more nutrient dense foods and less nutrient dense foods...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, by labeling them, you're adding a 👍🏼pass or fail 👎🏼 mentality that tells you...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨ you're passing or doing well if you are staying away from "bad" foods, yet you're unsatisfied and you binge later
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨ you're failing or doing bad if you're eating them, so you feel guilty, say "screw it" and binge
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Both of these scenarios can lead to guilt, shame and bingeing! 🍪
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But by removing the labels and knowing that all foods can fit into a healthful lifestyle, you can take back your choice in what feels best for you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes that may look like choosing a lighter ice cream, but sometimes it looks like choosing the more indulgent one and either way you move on without guilt or bingeing!

There is nothing wrong with you if you feel hungry when it’s not “time” to eat. 🫶🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For so many years, you’ve been taught to fight against your body. To suppress and ignore your hunger. And so of course, when you’re hungry at 10 AM, you feel like there’s something wrong with you. 😔
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But there’s many reasons why you would be hungry before lunch on certain days…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉🏼 the time you ate that morning
👉🏼 how much you ate
👉🏼 what you ate
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So many women I work with feel guilty if they get hungry before it’s “time” to eat, but when we look at the overall picture - maybe they only had a small snack for breakfast or maybe they woke up earlier for a meeting at work and ate earlier.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your body is not meant to be a biological clock. ⏰Some days may look the same with your hunger levels, but for many reasons, other days you might feel a bit hungrier or eat more often.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And you should honor that rather than suppress it. Because when we suppress our hunger and get to the actual meal ravenously hungry, then our body plays catch up, you binge and then you feel uncomfortably full and guilty. 🫠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Is getting drinks with friends stressful or fun for you? 🥂

One of my clients recently expressed that she would often decline getting drinks with friends because she would feel guilty for drinking high calorie drinks. 🍹 She said if she went, she’d always order water and feel left out. 🙇🏼‍♀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She said that she either had to watch her calories all day to make the drinks fit OR she would eat too much and have to decline the offer because then she’d go way over her calorie limit. 🙅🏼‍♀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💔 She said this created a lot of stress and really affected her social life and her friends stopped inviting her out because she’d always decline.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
