During Black History Month, we are honored to recognize and uplift the voices of team members who help shape the care and culture of our hospital each day.
Today, we highlight Faith, a valued member of our Social Work team.
When asked what it means to be a Black professional in healthcare, she shared:
“Being a Black professional in healthcare means carrying both responsibility and representation. I understand how historical and present-day inequities impact the patients I serve, especially those who may not always feel safe, heard, or believed in medical spaces.
Having a seat at the table isn’t just about being present — it’s about making space for others to feel seen, valued, and protected.”
Reflecting on her role, she shared:
“I’m most proud of how I show up for people in crisis. When someone is at their most vulnerable, I stay grounded. I don’t panic. I don’t dismiss. I don’t minimize.
I hold boundaries while holding empathy, and I advocate even when it’s uncomfortable.”
She also shared this reflection:
“Black History Month is not just about remembrance — it’s about responsibility. I am my ancestors’ wildest dreams.
We belong in every room we enter. Not as guests. Not as diversity checkboxes. But as leaders and system changers.”
We are grateful for her leadership, advocacy, and the compassion she brings to our patients and team each day.
