Summer does not have to be perfect to be meaningful. ☀️

Some of the most connecting moments will not be the big vacations or perfectly planned activities.

They will be:
✨ slower mornings
✨ popsicles outside
✨ laughter in the kitchen
✨ late-night conversations
✨ movie nights
✨ and simply feeling safe together

As summer begins, may we release the pressure to “do it all” and instead embrace presence, connection, and grace.

Connection over perfection, always. 🤍

Therapist Mom Minute 🤍

As the school year comes to a close, many children are carrying mixed emotions they may not fully understand or know how to express.

Excitement for summer and grief for what is ending can exist at the very same time. 💛

Sometimes those emotions show up as:
✨ irritability
✨ clinginess
✨ tears
✨ exhaustion
✨ or bigger reactions

And honestly, parents often feel it too.

Two things can be true:
You can feel grateful…
and overwhelmed.
Excited…
and emotionally tired.

Transitions impact the nervous system for both children and adults.

This week, may we slow down enough to make space for both our children’s emotions and our own. 🤍

Children are not only feeling excitement…

they may also be grieving what is ending. 💛

As the school year comes to a close, many children are carrying mixed emotions they do not fully understand or know how to express.

They are saying goodbye to:
✨ teachers
✨ friends
✨ routines
✨ safe spaces
✨ familiar rhythms
✨ and even versions of themselves from this school year

Sometimes what looks like irritability, clinginess, withdrawal, tears, or big reactions is actually a nervous system trying to process change.

And parents often feel it too.

The end of the school year can bring excitement and exhaustion, relief and overwhelm, joy and grief—all at the same time.

Two things can be true:
Children can look forward to summer…
while still mourning what is ending.

Connection grows when we make space for both. 🤍

Maycember: the month that never stops. 🌸

Remember, you can’t pour from an empty bucket.

Take a pause, check in with yourself, and ask: (and to your children) ⏸️

1. What do I know is true right now?
2. What are three things I see, hear, and touch?
3. What is my body telling me?

A gentle reminder to pause, even in the chaos. ☺️
